**********UPDATE*********UPDATE*********UPDATE***********

CONFIRMATION OF ATTENDANCE IS TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED!!!!

Due to the enormous response Gary has been receiving from our membership announcing their intentions to attend this very special mission, we MUST suspend confirmation temporarily until he has the opportunity to sort through all of them.  As he is trying to juggle work and family while also running this mission, PLEASE DO NOT SEND ANY ADDITIONAL CONFIRMATIONS UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE!!!  Once he has the opportunity to sort and count the number of attendees, if we are still below the 200 limit requested by Mr. Buckles' daughter, we will open this again NLT Monday, August 6, 2007.

For ALL who have announced their intention to attend, a sign-up sheet will be at the staging area and your name will be compared to and checked off against the list Gary is maintaining.  This is being done to ensure all who let him know of their intentions are given the opportunity to participate.

It has also been decided that our staging location will NOT be put out for viewing on this thread.  Instead, those who have indicated their intention to attend will be sent a private e-mail with directions.  While I understand this is totally different from the way we normally do things in the PGR, it is felt this is necessary in an effort to do our best to comply with the wishes of Mr. Buckles' family, which is the normal protocol we follow on a daily basis.  It is hoped all understand this decision.

Respects,
Joe

********THE TRAVELING LIBERTY BELL IS NOW ENROUTE!*************

I spoke with Phyllis Hall, wife of Texas PGR member David Hall, at 1315 EDT.  She advises the Traveling Liberty Bell departed Celina, TX about an hour previous and is now enroute West Virginia, scheduled to arrive in Charles Town on Friday, 21 September 2007.

For those  not yet aware, the PGR is organizing to provide an escort as they make their way here.  West Virginia will pick up the escort as they come in from Philadelphia, PA via I-81S and bring them in to Charles Town.  Phyllis will call the morning of the 21st to let me know their time of departure from Philly for what should be about a 3 hour trip.

Anyone wishing to participate in this most honorable escort is encouraged to monitor the mission thread (http://tinyurl.com/2co63f) for updates on their travels.

Thank you for your support and participation.
Respects,
Joe

Well folks, the day is fast approaching for what should be one of the most joyous and rewarding missions we've ever done here in West Virgina with the PGR, other than welcoming home our troops.

For everyone's information, at the staging site, sign-ins will be required with all names to be checked off against our master list.  You will be given an identification badge on a lanyard that is to be displayed at all times.  Sorry but if you don't have a badge you will not be able to participate.  So, if any of you are bringing someone along that is not on the list, get in touch with Gary asap so they can be added.  I sincerely hate to see someone denied the opportunity to participate because they failed to give advance notice.

Once we leave the staging area, we will be followed by a State Trooper who will have clear instructions that nobody is permitted to join or fall in behind the procession.  We currently have about 195 commitments from those wanting to attend plus 25-30 media organizations.  As we agreed to hold the number to around 200 we will be unable to allow anyone to just join in without prior registration.

As a sidenote...the Traveling Liberty Bell will be here for this most honorable occasion.  Although David and Phyllis Hall received a donation from the Texas PGR and Texas ALR, it was nowhere near enough to meet there expenses for this journey.  We will either make available a donation can at the sign-in table or make announcement at the pre-ride briefing for anyone that feels the desire to assist them.

Due to surgery, yesterday, on my wrist and elbow, I will be unable to ride on this mission, however, I will be there on Friday afternoon/early evening in my cage, staying at the Rodeway Inn, Martinsburg.

Everyone, please ride/travel in with extreme caution.  Be ever mindful of the roaming wildlife.  Hope to meet all of you in person!

Remember....WEST VIRGINIA IS A HELMET STATE!
Respects,
Joe
