*******************BACK ON AMERICAN SOIL!*******************
For those who are unaware, our men and women of the 150th AAB are now back on American soil, arriving in Fort Carson, CO last evening to a Heroe's Welcome from our brothers and sisters in Colorado. It is only a matter of a few days before they are processed out and being the final leg of their journey home to Wild, Wonderful West Virginia.
If you've not already done so, take a minute to thank our brothers and sisters in Colorado for the "bang up" job they did in ensuring the role "Our Folks" did in the GWOT these past 13+ months did not go unnoticed.
View the mission thread and post comments at: http://tinyurl.com/25fkuz.
We will ensure we provide the final, fitting Welcome Home that these brave men and women have earned. Respects, Joe |

To the WV PGR and citizens of Wheeling WV, it was an honor to be able to welcome home your citizen soldiers yesterday at Paterson AFB in Colorado Springs. They were totally stunned to see how many citizens of Colorado turned out to welcome them home. The PGR itself was nearly the same number as your citizen soldiers who returned to us unharmed. We gave them a great motorcyle escort to Ft Carson with the help of the Ft Carson military police department. On arrival they were driven through a water arch courtesy of the Ft Carson fire department. When they arrived at the Ft Carson chapel they were met with the traditional PGR Flag Line. Again, thank you for letting us meet the men of 150th AVN. It was our honor to see that they got their first welcome home here in Colorful Colorado. We all know that when they get back to Wheeling that the PGR and the community of Wheeling will give these great heroes a wonderful welcome home to BY GOD WEST VIRGINIA.

Hello West "by God" Virginia. Just wanted to check in and make sure your soldiers are back home safe and sound. If it were up to me their welcome home in Colorado would have taken place in an appropriate watering hole. Thanks again to the Mountain Men Soldiers of the 150th AAB. Thank God you are all back in one piece. And thanks to you for your service to our country.

While I'll leave the majority of the Mission Report up to Ron, I feel the need to post some comments of my own here. Without a doubt, this certainly can be classified as MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!!
First, the members of the 150th, AKA Ridge Runners, received a suprise Hero's Welcome from our brothers and sisters from Colorado. We here in West "By God" Virginia wanted nothing more than to be the "icing on the cake" for these troops, to show them just how much what they have been doing is appreciated. In my mind, we succeeded in doing just exactly that, although the "icing" may have been a bit runny from all the rain we encountered today. We definitely owe a big Thank You to the "man upstairs" for parting the clouds and providing sunshine shortly before their landing.
Seeing those 130's coming in on approach gave me goose bumps ON TOP of goose bumps! I can only imagine what had to be going through the minds of these troops as they were taxiing to their hangar and the much anticipated reunion with their families. How in the world THEY managed to stay in formation as they marched across the tarmac to their hangar, I'll never understand. Guess it goes back to old saying of "Once a soldier, always a soldier".
My sincere thanks to all riders, and cagers, who braved absolutely horrendous conditions to support these troops. PGR members will never cease to amaze me with their dedication to our troops and their families! As I passed through the lines this morning, prior to our departure for the airport, the "theme" I heard most often was simply.....if these troops can go through what they did for the past year, I can certainly ride in the rain for one day to honor them! AMEN MY FRIENDS!!!!!
My thanks, also, to members the Wheeling PD Motor Patrolmen for providing a safe, smooth escort to the airport. It's an honor to work with you!
Thanks, too, goes to Tom Tomaneck, airport manager, for allowing us to do what we did today and ensuring all was done safely.
To one of our newest members, Chief McClure, thank you, sir, for your service to our country and the efforts you put forth helping Ron to set this up. It was truly OUR honor and privilege to welcome these troops home!
Finally, to each and every member of the Ridge Runners, my heartfelt thanks for what you accomplished during your deployment. Each of you can take an enormous amount of pride in the fact that you did your jobs professionally, safely and each of you returned to your loved ones. Enjoy the time with your family and friends; you have earned it! All members of the Patriot Guard Riders and all true Americans thank you for putting your lives on the line, daily, so that we may continue to enjoy the freedom and liberties we have come to expect in this country.
WELCOME HOME!!!!!!! With Respects, Joe |

TO SEE THOSE FAMILIES REUNITED AGAIN AFTER SO LONG A SEPERATION TUGGED AT YOUR HEART AND SWELLED IT WITH PRIDE. WE WERE SO FORTUNATE TO TAKE PART IN SOMETHING SO REWARDING FOR THE SOUL. WE ALL FELT THE JOY OF THE FAMILIES AND WANTED TO EMBRACE THEIR LOVED ONES, TOO. 150th, YOU ARE A TESTAMENT TO THE PROFESSIONALISM AND STRENGTH OF THE UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES. WELL DONE !!! WELCOME BACK!! I HAVE A LOT OF PEOPLE TO THANK FOR MAKING THIS A "SUNNY" DAT AFTER ALL. TO ALL THE PGR MEMBERS, LOCAL RIDERS, AND INDEPENDENT RIDERS WHO CAME OUT TODAY, I SALUTE. THE CONDITIONS WERE LESS THAN FAVORABLE STARTING OUT TO SAY THE LEAST, BUT YOU SHOWED UP, AND SHOWED THE 150th AND THEIR FAMILIES YOUR PATRIOTIC AMERICAN HEARTS. I THANK YOU ALL FOR BEING THERE. THANKS TO CW4 BOB MCCLURE FOR HELPING SET UP THIS BEAUTIFUL WELCOME HOME. BOB, YOU HARD WORK PAID OFF. THAT WAS AN AWESOME WELCOME HOME. THE FLAGS, THE TRUCKS, THE CHOPPERS, ALL OUTSTANDING. THANK YOU, AGAIN, TO THE WHEELING POLICE DAPARTMENT FOR THE ESCORT AND WORKING WITH US. YOU GUYS ARE A CLASS ACT. IT'S GREAT TO HAVE YOUR SUPPORT. JOE, MY FRIEND, THANKS FOR THE BANNER. I WENT TO SIGN IT, AND HAD TO WAIT FOR THE LINE TO GO DOWN. EVERYONE WAS EXCITED TO SIGN IT. GOOD JOB!! TO ALL, GENERAL TACKETT SAID THAT IT WOULD HANG IN THEIR HANGER UPON THE WALL. EVERY TIME THEY LOOK AT IT, THEY WILL REMEMBVER WHAT YOU ALL DID FOR THEM. GO AHEAD AND SMILE, I AM. TO THE VARIOUS EMERGENCY SQUADS ON HANDS, THANKS GUYS. YOU MADE A DIFFERENCE!! AS JOE SAID WHEN WE WERE WATCHING THEM MARCH IN FORMATION TO THEIR WAITING FAMILIES, "I COULD DO THESE MISSIONS EVERY DAY". AMEN. WELCOME HOME 150TH !!
