A mother's son
So young and brave
Went off to war
The world to save
He never complained
He stood tall
And in a battle
He gave his all
This warrior fell
In a land far away
America lost a HERO
That fateful day
He is coming home
He will be here before long
His mother waits
She must be strong
When he arrives
The PGR will be there
To help the family
With this cross to bear
We will fly our flags
As we have for years
Our hearts will be heavy
Our eyes filled with tears
The rumble of our bikes
Will be heard across the land
America will know
It's the PGR taking the stand
When this brave warrior
Is laid to rest
We will stand proud
For America's best.
With pride and respect
And honor too
For this great HERO
It's the least we can do

We shall be forever grateful.

| Sgt Parker, as a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. We so deeply appreciate your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. To Richard's family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are dealing with-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed last year in Al Anbar. I pray wonderful memories of your dear young warrior help eventually to ease the pain you now endure. Richard will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom |

UPDATE...UPDATE
Updated 19 Jun 07 1431 edt S Sturgis
Greetings Fellow Patriot Guard Riders, CONFIRMED MISSION SGT. Richard K. Parker, killed in action June 13, 2007.
Mission #1: The family has requested an escort from the airport to the funeral home. Details of the flight number, arrival time and location have not been made available to us yet. Quite possibly we will receive those details later today, or tomorrow. As soon as they become available, I will send out another all-member email as well as posting the details on the forum under the "Confirmed Missions" thread. The Augusta airport has been requested as the desired arrival location according to the CAO. The escort will be from the arrival location to the Adams Funeral Home in Farmington, Maine. Needless to say the escort from the airport will be a last-minute endeavor. But, we've had these before and we've always handled them well. Keep your eyes on the "Confirmed Mission" thread at: http://www.patriotguard.org/Forums/tabid/61/postid/553843/view/topic/Default.aspx
Mission #2: The family has also requested an escort from the funeral home, to the memorial service. The details for this segment of the mission will also be coming soon. The escort will be from the Adams Funeral Home in Farmington, Maine to the Mt. Abrams High School in Strong, Maine, where a celebration of life will take place. Following the service, there will be a reception held at the Phillip's Grade School organized by the Prescott-Fairbanks American Legion Post 64.
I apologize for not having the times, dates and other details for you at this time. That information will be coming soon. Until then, lets take this opportunity to prepare ourselves and our equipment for the mission which lay ahead of us. Thank you for all that you do.

Thank you to all those sending their regards on behalf of Richard. I know that he is looking down and is proud at his sacrafice. He was a sensative, extreemly loving, young at heart soldier that has caused many hearts of those who knew him to have a void where he placed his footprints. It was his second tour and would have been home for good in a months time. He always lit up a room with his goofy grin and childlike ways. Always so laid back and generous.
Again thank you to all who have taken the time to post and a future thank you to those riding at his funeral. I know he will be looking down with pride. He was a member of the PGR and will be honored the PGR is taking time to celebrate him (see you there). He was so impressed on April 22 2006 when the PGR rolled up at the Augusta Armory. He just stood in awe. It pains me to think that his parade home will not be the same as the parade when deployed. He made the ultimate sacrafice. I am so proud of him.
