Hi all,
My apologies for taking longer then usual to post in as your Ride Captain. I wanted to be sure my work schedule for Monday could be re-arranged before I accepted this mission.

As like all the posts before mine, my condolences go out to Major Marlon Thompson's family, relatives, friends, and loved ones. There is no higher privilege as a PGR then to ride in honor of a fallen hero!

These missions are not easy, but are a duty that can not be compared to the ultimate sacrifice of a hero. Let's ride with pride, respect, and honor for Major Marlon Thompson who will be deeply missed but never forgotten!

We will stage at the highschool Gym at 9:30 where i will have further instructions for the mission that day. I hope for a good PR turnout.

God Bless

Marlon, we thank you for your service to this Nation, for your leadership to our young, for your generous nature, your smile and presence. May we feel comfort that now you rest in peace, with God, and once again together with your son Jeremy, who's great smile is also still in our memories.
We will miss you, but we will never forget.

May your family and all who loved you find comfort. I think of the words of a friend, a Veteran, who penned these words:
"I am a whisper found
In the wind of questions flow
Too much too soon is faded
>From the land where answers grow

Turn up the sky one corner
Take care to nurture the course
And find me just a marvel
That shines with no remorse"

God Bless and keep you until that Day of Great Reunion
With Care

Well, our mission may be complete for Ltc. Thompson, but it will never be forgotten. The memories of the day will last a long time. What a wonderful family and a very nice farewell to Marlon.

No matter how many times I do this, i am always humbled by the reception we receive from family, freinds, relatives and military present. It really is an honor to be among truly wonderful people. Thanx to Pia, Brad, Skip and other "locals" that helped make this mission succesful, and thanx to Craig and Lance for your help in organizing this mission.

We say farewell to Marlon- a great Soldier, a great man - but say hello to new relationships that became of this day! May you rest in the peace that you have earned and may God watch over your family and loved ones - thanx Marlon, you will be missed!

May I join Tom in his expression of honor and respect for Marlon, the memory of him and his last farewell will never be forgotten. I pray that God receives and cares for him
just As he was loved and admired here on earth. I truly envision him in heaven, playing golf with his son right now, as God watches over his family and friends hear on earth.

I was truly humbled and honored to be part of this tribute, and dearly thank you Tom, Lance and Craig for your up-dates, organization and leadership, but most of all for coming to Plankinton and letting us take part in this mission.
I was VERY glad to have met you all, and am equally proud to know you !

Here is a picture link of the mission for Ltc. Marlon Thompson, submitted by DeltaC.

Avatar picture taken at Hector, Mn., Municipal Airport, where a T33 was erected in memory of my first cousin and best friend, Capt Robert C. Swanson, USAF, who died in service to his country in 1978, and in whose memory I ride with the PGR, to honor all who have served our nation.
