Sgt McDonald, we as a nation mourn your loss; we thank you for your service and sacrifice in order to defend our country's freedoms. You will be remembered always as a true American hero. To Edmund's family, I offer my prayers and support. I know a little of what you are going through-my son was killed last year in Iraq. I hope wonderful memories of your dear Edmund will bring you some comfort as time passes. Edmund will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. Stand Down-

The CAO assigned to the McDonald family has just passed on information from the family that they would like to keep the service small and private.

The family offers their sincere gratitiude for all that the PGR provides and for the condolences posted here.

A man's country is not a certain area of land, of mountains, rivers, and woods, but it is a principle; and patriotism is loyalty to that principle.
