My deepest regrets and sympathy to the family of U.S. Army Specialist Leeroy A. Camacho. The 'First Team' will never forget the service of this trooper, and his comrades. Rest in peace young soldier. I pray to God that he will abide with all who now bear the terrible burden of loss. May his love surround them and bring them peace and solace.

I was sad to see this announcement. I was on Guam while stationed onboard the USS HALEAKALA (AE-25) in the early 90's and made a couple of dive trips to Saipan while there for two years. I remember the people of both Guam and Saipan with such great fondness and miss those beautiful tropical islands and all the great people I met there! To the family of this hero please know that there are those of us who will never forget your son's sacrifice and also your sacrifice as well. I hope all these notes of support will help in some small way to ease your burden now and in the future. My sincere and heartfelt condolences go out to you and the whole island of Saipan. Thank you.

America has lost a great Son. Spc Camacho knows more about what fighting for America means than most of the people that live on the mainland. Most Americans take their freedom for granted. Leeroy had the spirit that you must fight to have liberty and freedom. He also fought for a great island in the Pacific, Saipan! I am sure that he was filled with pride to know that Amercia has sons from other places that are willing to die for this great nation. I have tears in my eyes, and I am humbled to even be able to write about such a great man. I know that you have great sorrow, but please do not ever forget what this man has given us, Our Freedom! You have raised a great Man, and after time, you will remember the good times, and not these times.

Hand Salute!

Ready, Two!
