My prayers and condolences on the loss of your hero, SSgt Ross. I know how difficult this time is for you, as I lost my son in Iraq about a year ago. I truly hope that in time, happy memories of your dear Eric will help to ease the pain you endure today; I hope you find comfort in the support of family, friends and strangers. Take pride in the fact that this young man, who unselfishly gave his all, will be remembered, always, with honor and respect by a grateful and deeply indebted nation. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matts Mom

Thank you for your service and sacrifice in defending and protecting our freedoms. As a nation we mourn your loss, and we will remember you always as a true American hero. To the family, I offer my prayers and support. I understand a little of what you are going through-my son, a Marine LCpl, was killed in Iraq. I pray wonderful memories of your dear warrior help eventually to ease the pain you endure today. Your hero will never be forgotten-he leaves a legacy of honor and courage that few will ever achieve. God bless you. Julie Francis, Matt's Mom

My heartfelt sympathy to the family and friends of U.S. Army SSG Eric Ross. Words pale in the face of such a loss to family and loved ones who must carry on even though the burden of sorrow is so overwhelming. But let it be known that all who appreciate their freedom and the safety of their children, understand the service and sacrifice of SSG Ross, and will be forever in his debt. A hero goes forth to fight the forces of evil...as have Maine men in the past. I pray to the God of Our Fathers to Abide with all who suffer, surrounding them with his angels through all the days to come. Rest in Peace Trooper, day is done, go with God.

It pains me to see that this war has, again, taken another Hero from us.

SSGT Eric Ross, you will be sadly missed by your family, friends, battle buddies and even those like ourselves, whom have never had the pleasure and honor of meeting you in our lifetime. Both, Dan and I, thank you for your selfless service to our Country and appreciate your sacrifices. You are the epitomy of what a True American Hero is and we will never forget you. You answered to the call and laid down your life for others. It is now our time to 'stand your post'. Sleep well, Soldier. Your job is done.

To the Ross Family, our deepest condolences through this very difficult time. Eric's sacrifice will be etched on our hearts forever. Thank you for supporting him for being the fine Soldier and Hero he was. He will be missed by many.
