As a felow motorcyclist, it is hard to except we have lost another of the belivers in our freedom.
My prayers go out to your family and friends in this difficult time.
I would be there to honor you and comfort your family in person if possible, but unfortunately, I cannot.
I will be riding with the Ride Capt. on top of a certain bell though. I will be there in spirit.

Itinerary Update and Corrections:
The Patriot Guard has been invited by family members to stand watch for the memorial service for National Guard member Specialist Rebecca "Becky" Hall, age 23, on Sat. Jan 27, in Marshall, Mn. Specialist Hall passed away as the result of a car accident on Sunday, Jan 21, in South Dakota. The funeral is scheduled for 10:30 am Saturday Jan. 27, at First Lutheran Church, 100 Church Street, Marshall, Mn. Our mission is requested for the funeral services only. Internment services will be later that day in a neighboring town. Ms. Hall was also a motorcyclist, enjoying her Honda Shadow, and an active member of the Buffalo Ridge Chapter of ABATE of Minnesota. Final Itinerary: Staging Information: 8:45 - 9:15 am Saturday morning. We will stage in the Holy Redeemer School parking lot, on South Whitney Street, off West College Drive, which is Hwy 19 that passes through Marshall. Coming from the west edge of town, at the major intersection of Hwy 23 and Hwy 19, proceed into Marshall on West College Drive to the third traffic light, and turn left (south) onto South Whitney Street, which will take you right into the parking lot of Holy Redeemer School. Holy Redeemer School has graciously allowed the PGR use of their parking lot, and restroom facilities. There will be a basketball tournament conducted that morning, and we have been asked to park closest to the entrance to the parking lot. Mission briefing no later than 9:15 am., after which we will walk two blocks to the church, establish the flag line, and await the arrival of the family at approx. 9:30 am. After the family's arrival, we will need to separate into two groups, to cover both main entrances to the church. The service is at 10:30 am, and is expected to be large. We will have access to a warming area and restrooms, and probably hot coffee from the church ladies. For those who would like to listen to the service while warming up, there is a room available with a speaker system that we may use. After the funeral service, the casket will remain inside the church, while the luncheon is served. You may want to bring a sandwich or two with to eat while we wait for the funeral meal to be completed. It is anticipated that at approx. 1:00 pm the casket will be transferred to the hearse, and the family and friends will leave for the cemetary about 30 miles away, in Canby, Mn. At this point our mission will end. Final military rites will be conducted at the cemetary. The message has been relayed to me, however, that all are welcome to come to the cemetary if you so desire. Also, for those interested, I have secured a place to 'meet and greet' after our mission, food and drink available. This information will be given out at the mission briefing, along with taking a head count of those wishing to attend. As usual, bring your 3 x 5 flags and be self-sufficient. The forecast is for a high of just 15 degrees, so dress appropriately. No one is expected to ride their motorcycles for this mission, as safety is always first. For those needing motels, there are several in town, but several school and college activities are taking place this weekend, and rooms are scarce. At this point in time, the AmericInn has a few available, and will discount to PGR members. Please ask for the 'grievance' discount. Their number is 507-537-9424 . I will check with other lodging in town and post info in this post when obtained.
Other lodging at: Super 8 507-537-1461
Best Western Marshall Inn 507-532-3221
Both have a few rooms left and offer a bereavement discount available to the PGR

| My condolences to the family of SPC Becky Hall. I lost my own son last month, home just eight days from his year's deployment in Baghdad. He was returning to his base after coming home on leave, and his pickup hydroplaned in the first of these bad storms we have had. So sad to see so many of our fighting men and women surviving the war, only to come home and die in something so senseless as a car accident. I am so sorry for your loss. My thoughts and prayers are with your family at this most difficult time. The men and women who are serving our country, standing tall as a buffer between us and terrorism, deserve our highest respect and honor, and I honor your Becky.
Rest in Peace, Soldier. Mission Complete. |

Age 23, Marshall
Oct. 26, 1983-Jan. 21, 2007
MARSHALL — Services for Rebecca “Becky” Hall, 23, of Marshall, are at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. today with a prayer service at 7 p.m at the Hamilton
Funeral Home. Visitation will continue at the church one hour prior to the service on Saturday morning. Burial will take place at the Canby City Cemetery.
She died Sunday, Jan. 21, 2007, as the result of an automobile accident near Clear Lake, S.D.

While at Marshall High School, she was active in the dive team, color guard with marching band, and cheerleading. She graduated from Marshall High School in 2002. She was employed by Minnesota Northwest Pipe Fittings in Marshall for over a year before enrolling at Minnesota West Technical College - Canby campus in the dental assistant program. She was currently employed at Parrot Bay Bar & Grill in Canby. Becky loved her yellow Escape, shopping with “the mom card,” and riding her motorcycle. She was looking forward to participating in the Toys For Tots bike run. Becky made friends easily and loved socializing with everyone.

A couple of questions have come up that I did not address in the itinerary. No one is expecting anyone to drive their motorcycles on this mission! We are expecting a high of around 12 degrees, and our streets have ice and snow, although after today's warmth they may look pretty good.
We are staging about two blocks from the church, to not use up the available spaces at the church for the mourners. Please see the itinerary in the opening post for details
I was informed by the family contact that Spc. Hall's motorcycle will be at the church.
There are also many PGR's who are also members of ABATE that will be attending the funeral. Please stand watch with us if you wish, and leave the flag line to attend the services at the appropriate time.
You may want to bring a sandwich or two with, as there will be an extended waiting time while the funeral dinner is served.
And to the people who have contacted me about how to join the PGR - Welcome ! Thank you for your support!
