To the family and friends of Roger. There is nothing I can say that will ease the pain you are suffering now, but know that all of the PGR and Military nation mourns with you at the untimely passing of this Hero that is your loved one. Brother Roger, may God rest your soul, your mission is through, and rest well friend, knowing you did the right thing. Thank you.

Freedom isn't free, but it's worth fighting for.

Mission Report:

Despite the weather being less than cooperative, dozens of members of the Patriot Guard came out to honor Pvt. Roger Baski, veteran and fellow PGR member. On Friday, after staging at the Ikea location in Bloomington, 27 fellow riders headed into Fort Snelling National Cemetery. Flag lines were set up on both sides of Peck Avenue west of Labelle Drive. After the arrival of the funeral cortege a short interment service followed. Flag lines were held through the service and until after all of the mourners had departed.

On Saturday 35 members gathered in Apple Valley to again honor Roger at the Henry Anderson Mortuary, where a memorial service was held. Members with flags were stationed at the front door, and all along the driveways where family and friends were arriving. Flag lines again were held until all family and friends had departed.

Fellow PGR member and president of ICVMC MN II Corps Greg "Springer" Yung, who was a friend of Roger's, rode Roger's bike to the service. It was set up on the sidewalk at the front doors with Roger's leathers draped over the seat and his boots on the floorboards. A photo of Roger was placed near the kickstand and an American flag draped over the handlebars. Three other bikes ridden by members despite the cold were parked in the driveway in front of the mortuary front doors. A fitting tribute to this veteran and rider.

Several of Roger's family and friends asked me to convey their thanks to all of the members who came out to honor him. More than one told me "He would have loved this".

Thank you to each of you who came out to this mission on either or both days. A special thanks to Springer for the assistance he gave Roger's family in planning the services as well as getting them in contact with me. Greg, your dedication and unwavering support are inspiring and greatly appreciated.
