Forwarding an email, received today

Steve,

I am sending a request that this like all be attend by as many PGR riders as can possibly show up for it. SSG Ciraso was and still is a member of 1-5 Cav, the unit in which he and I serve in. His tragic loss will be missed by all that are apart of the unit. He was a great individual that showed compassion to his soldiers when the messed up. He mentored the young soldiers and help guide them in the right direction. He will be sorely missed by the men that served with him and he served under. He was a caring friend, a great NCO, and a loving father. His daughter, Liberty, will only have stories and the word of all who served with him. So again I ask that everyone available to attend this service please do and give him one final salute from the country served and the people that loved him dearly.

V/R,

SSG Richard E. Kovach

Local staging for those PGR riders in Centex who intend on attending the escort mission for SSG Ciraso on Thursday, 14 December 2006 will stage at the Mickey's Convenience Store located at the corner of Elm Road and Hwy 195 in Killeen, Texas from 1700-1800. KSU will be at 1800 sharp.

If you are a Centex PGR and do not wish to ride to Killeen and would rather ride directly to Austin, be aware that the staging site is the LRC parking lot on ABIA. Take the first (Cargo) exit off Hwy 71 and turn right on Spirit of Texas Drive; proceed to the 4-way stop sign; continue straight on Spirit of Texas Drive and the LRC parking lot will be the first parking lot on the right-hand side of the road past the 4-way stop.

If you live in the Centex area (North of Round Rock and South of Hillsboro; east of Brady and west of Mexia) and have not received email notification of this mission, please email me at the email address I have provided below so you may be added to our Centex notification list.

Thank you, Staff Sgt. James Kristofer R. Ciraso for your service to this Nation. It is because of Patriots such as you that I am able to sit here and do the things I do. The least I can do is pay homage and respect to this Hero and his family.
To the family of this American Hero:
We as a Nation grieve with you in the loss of one of our Nation’s best. His adherence to “Duty to God and Country” will not be forgotten. Death is a time to rejoice in the life someone had and the lives they touched on this earth. Life is but a blink of an eye. May the Great Architect take this Hero and his family into his council, protect and heal them.

You don't have to love war, but you do have to love the Warrior!

The sound of 200 people holding flags -- is deafening.

To the Ciraso family and friends, I hope you find comfort in knowing James was a true American hero. He did not die in vain or for a worthless cause. You should be extremely proud of him, and remember always the good times. May the Lord provide you with the comfort in knowing he gave his life so others could live. They now continue his mission.

Hope to see all of CENTEX at the airport tonight for the escort to Lampasas.

To the family of SSGT James Kristofer Ciraso.

I was honored to meet Kristofer at the Airport on his way to Iraq. He was smiling from ear to ear about visiting his old stomping grounds of Bangor. Kristofer attended High school with two of my sons who are now serving so it was a double honor to meet him.
His infectious smile, good heart, and his determination will always be remembered by those who have met him or knew him. Our hearts are broken by his passing and the world has lost a good man
We owe your family a deep dept of gratitude and we will never forget.

I was one of the 42 bikes that helped escort SSG Ciraso home from the airport in Austin last night, and I was also one of the 16 bikes that was honored to ride out onto the tarmac to stand in honor of SSG Ciraso.

It's a moment I'll never forget, and one that deeply humbled me. The sight of all those passengers watching from their little window on the plane as the casket of SSG Ciraso was removed from the plane and prepared for the family's first viewing of their loved one since arriving home...and then looking up towards the concourse and watching the windows fill as more-and-more people became aware of what was going on.

To the people of Maine, I can assure you that your native son was honored and respected on this leg of his journey in a manner he so richly deserved. It was an honor to ride with so many fine patriots last night (to include the substantial LEO escort for the entire 68 miles ride from the airport to Lampassas).

Riding in Honor of:

PFC Tina Priest and PFC Amy Duerksen
Gunnery Sergeant John D. Fry and Sgt. Jeffery S. Wiekamp
Cpt. James A. Funkhouser and Sgt. Roger P. Pena Jr.
PFC Kristian Menchaca and SSgt Forrest D. Baker

Cpl. Michael C. "Craig" Ledsome and Cpt. Sean E. Lyerly

bump for update

==============================

When a mans heart is full of deceit it burns up, dies and a dark shadow falls over his soul. From the ashes of a once great man has risen a curse, a wrong that must be righted. We look to the skies for a vindicator, someone to strike fear into the black hearts of the same men who created him. The battle between good and evil has begun. Against an army of shadows comes the Dark Warrior, the purveyor of good, with a voice of silence and a mission of justice. - Steve "Sting" Borden

Last night's excort mission for SSG Ciraso was my first ride with the PGR. I am amazed at the support shown to the Ciraso family, from the 1-5 Cavalry's Honor Gaurd Detail, LEO support, the riders, the support drivers, as well and the pubilc in Austin, Ceder Park, Leander, and Lampasas. The sight of the passengers paying thier respect thru the plane windows, the people int he termnial windos, amd the workers on the tarmac was moving. As a Vet, it makes my heart swell with pride that so many are willing to stop thier lives for a few hours to pay tribute to an American Hero. The Ciraso's are a truly amazing family, I wish that everyone could get to know them as I have the the last 2 years. Please contuinue to keep them in your prayers. My only regret is that I never personally met SSG Ciraso, but It does my heart good to know that Kristopher is with God, recieving his reward.

Thank you for your Service.
