| The Casualty Assistance Officer has been contacted, given our information for the family, and it is believed that they are already aware of us and our purpose and Mission Of Respect.
They will receive our love, attention, and support.
I highly suspect this will be a Confirmed Mission, so please, remain attentive to this thread for information as it is gathered.
The Patriot Guard Riders of Ohio are standing ready, willing, and able to perform duties and services requested. We are ready to honor and respect an American Hero, one who has paid the ultimate sacrifice for us, for our country, and for our freedom and way of life.
Patriots, please, set up, pay attention, and be ready to stand proud for one of our countries defenders, for he has stood for us. |

| THIS IS NOW A CONFIRMED MISSION OF RESPECT.
Please monitor this thread for information as we gather it. It is a most difficult time for this family, making arrangements and tough decisions, so please Patriots, be patient, the information will be known as soon as I do. This thread will soon move to Confirmed Mission Forum.
This morning I spoke with the Casualty Assistance Officer, a bit later I was informed of the confirmation. A short time later I received a phone call from Vincent's Mother.
This is not normal for a family member, and especially the mother to contact us directly. She expressly wanted to thank us for what we do. I try to hold myself together when speaking with family members, especially at this delicate, fragile time. As most of you are aware, my feelings are soon surfaced. This is difficult for all concerned, and no easy way to do anything, but we must continue forward with our misssions of respect and honor. It was evident by this mother that we are needed by them. They will receive all the support our members can muster, and our tears will be tears for them and Vincent, and for a Nation who lost another American Hero. We truly are saddened at the loss of yet another Brother.
Vincent shall be afforded the services an American Hero deserves, he will watch from above, and be proud, for he will know how America really feels about him, evident in the waving flags of our great country. I am always thankful for a confirmation, because this family has invited us to celebrate the life of a special person, a defender of our freedom and way of life. May God rest his soul, and our tears flow with the family, and drain some of the pain from them. May our silent respect, yell loudly of our love for them all, for our thanks and recognition of their sacrifice for us. What an honor for us to be invited to share in this celebration of life. How blessed we are to have young men like this defending us, for our freedom continues, though at a most terrible price. It is because of that supreme sacrifice that we must strive, must be driven, must complete our Mission of Respect in a most honorable fashion, our lines must be straight, and above all, our flags held high. |
|
Enjoy your life and freedoms, for a most costly price is being paid for them. Support those that pay that price, and sacrifice, FOR US. |

Riding in honor of our nephew, Hospitalman Apprentice Gary T. Frost, U.S. Navy, 05/16/74 - 12/04/94 -------- What Heroes Gave
Each donned their uniform to be Defenders of our liberty
Their mission sure, their spirits bright Guard freedom’s home, be brave to fight
One final day each faced their call Each gave their best enduring all
We’ll never know what they went through But know they loved this country true
Deep down inside we should all feel What heroes gave, their cost so real
We must stay thankful, grateful of The gift of freedom through their love
Their loved ones bore the gravest pain What we can’t know, some now sustain
To God I pray their pain will cease And each will find long-lasting peace
Remember this from year to year What heroes gave – shan’t disappear
We’ll never let their special day Their time for honor slip away
These brave fought for a nation free If not for them, where would we be?

Itinerary Update - Spc. Vincent J. Pomante III, 22, of Westerville, Ohio 16 Dec 06
The PGR has been asked by the family to provide a display of flags at the church, prior to the service. Our information as of Thursday afternoon is that there will be no internment service at a cemetery.
Staging location will be the parking lot of the Sunbury Plaza shopping center. There is a Kroger store in this center and a tall sign on Sunbury Rd with the shopping center name and Kroger. This shopping center is just North of RT-161 on the West side of the Sunbury RD. There are stoplights at the North and South entrances, also a McDonald’s on the South end and a BP gas station & Arby’s on the North end.
Tentative Schedule:
Staging will start at 08:45
Briefing at 09:30, then move the 1.3 miles to the church
Flag line at church needs to be in place at 09:30. (The police escort of the hearse and family members will leave the funeral home, only a couple of miles away, at 09:30 so it will only take a few minutes to arrive at the church)
Service starts at 11:00AM (Central College Presbyterian Church, 975 S Sunbury RD, Westerville, OH)
I am waiting on a couple of details to post the final schedule which may adjust the staging and flags up time. Confirmed schedule will be posted by mid day Friday.
Westerville is a NE suburb of Columbus, on the outside of the I-270 loop.
Directions to staging from the I-270 (Columbus) Loop:
Exit I-270 (Columbus loop) on to SR-161 East (exit 30-B going Northbound, exit 30-A going Southbound), proceed about ½ mile East on SR-161 to (the first exit you come to) Sunbury RD. Turn North (Right from the off ramp) on to Sunbury RD and the Sunbury Plaza shopping center will be on your Left just North of SR-161.
Note: There is construction at this interchange (I-270 & SR-161) but all of the exits are open, please proceed with caution and follow the road signs.
For those coming West on SR-161, exit on Sunbury RD and at the stoplight on the off ramp, cross Sunbury RD in to the shopping center parking lot on you right.
Please bring your flags. The weather forecast for Saturday is for temps in the mid 50’s.
