| Pork Chop, The marathon is 5 miles North of Martinsville on 37. That would require you guys to back track. How about you guys hook up at Casey's gas station on 39 and we'll meet you there, say about 12:05 or so. VA if you see this try to be a bit early!!

If anyone would like to take a less efficient route... DNnR and I are leaving Fishers at 8:30, then Fortville, Shelbyville, Franklin, Trafalgar, Morgantown (<10:30?), Beanblossom, Unionville, Bloomington.

Turtlepork, I will meet you at Gray's Cafeteria parking lot at the south end of Mooresville. I will be there at 11:30. What time do I expect you? We can meet Sargent Moon (I know a short cut to 37) or go on down to Casey's in Martinsville.

Mav,
We are meeting Moon and them at Casey's on 39. We should be passing Gray's around 11:30 +/- if all goes well. |

| Final Ride Report
Today’s mission began with hooking up with many old friends in Martinsville and taking the ride down to Bloomington to the staging area. I must say that I was expecting a very small group for this mission, when we arrived at the staging point I saw what I had expected to be the entire group waiting for us. We had a total of 18 riders and 1 cage for this mission, Ms. Skye, bless her heart! Kevin, Mr. Pruitt’s son and his son showed up shortly after our arrival. When Kevin got off his steel pony I introduced him to the Riders. He was deeply touched by everyone that came. We rode over to his mother’s home and we parked in front, bikes nearly a block long. We presented Mrs. Pruitt with our plaque and thanked her for the sacrifices that Emil made for this country. What a wonderful lady!! Gracious, loving and very appreciative for our being there.
We escorted the family to American Legion Post 18. Bloomington PD has a policy that unless there is a hearse in the procession that they will not provide an escort. We provided our own road guards and made it without incident. Many drivers actually pulled over out of respect for Mr. Pruitt. When we arrived at the American Legion for the memorial, Bloomington PD had a motorcycle officer there with his blue and red lights going, the Officer stood at attention and saluted. He held the salute from the first bike to the last vehicle. While policy may limit them on their interaction, it’s obvious that their hearts are genuine and honorable.
When we arrived at the Legion, we were invited in for the memorial service and for a following luncheon.
The town of Bloomington has many Patriots, which honked, waved, pulled over and patiently waited at intersections for the procession. I thank them for their show of respect and patriotism. For all the Indiana Patriot Guard Riders, you folks never cease to amaze me and humble me just by being in your presence. You make me proud to be a member.
I’m certain that Kevin, Mrs. Pruitt and their family know that we care and that Emil’s passing did not go unnoticed, but was honored and respected for him being the patriot and hero he was.
May God keep Emil and his family close to carry them through this difficult time.
Semper Fi,
Sarge
