Am in the process of moving in preparation of my re-enlistment- it will be a last minute call, but if I can be there, I will be...

Stew in Gillespie, this is a semi heads-up, as I'll be riding from Glen Carbon if I am able.

I could use a little guidance if possible.  Is the PGR planning to be present at the Sunday visitation for Rodney, or just the funeral on Monday?  I have heard mention of the Bloomington send off Sunday PM, have looked around and do not see any posts regarding a mission or information for this event.

I am traveling from Milwaukee, and may be leaving tomorrow night due to weather.  Insights would be appreciated.

PGR is not attending the visitiation as a group.

We will meet Monday morning at the Northenders VFW 2349 Stockyard Road. Springfield, IL 62702. (217) 789-4725
Muster at 9:00 AM, Brief, and then depart at 9:15 for the church where we will line up for the family's arrival.  There will be no police escort between the VFW and the church on North Grand.
We will proudly hold our flags for Rodney Reynolds.
After the ceremony, we will ride with the funeral to Camp Butler National Cemetery and be dismissed from there.

Rose,

Thanks for the info.  If there is no organized mission in Bloomingtom, I will plan on attending the visitation in Springfield on my own.

For those that attened the "Rick Monday Flag Escort" on Friday.  We will be using the same locations at the Northenders VFW and route.  We passed the church during that ride on North Grand.  There will be a reception after the funeral at Northenders VFW.

25 Jun 2006 5:42 PM Alert

I just got back from the visitation after returning from Normal, IL for the farewell ceremony.

I met the grandparents and the funeral director.  Rodney had a lot of friends and is truely missed.

Funeral director told me that the family was arriving at the church earlier than expected.  Therefore we need to get kickstands up by 9:15 instead of 9:30.  I'm sending my husband over the the church to have the truck with the flags ready for our arrival so we can jump to our duties.

I realize that some of you will be in the parade in Normal IL at 7:30 and then come to Springfield for Spec Reynolds.

Ride Safe,
Rose

So we are meeting at Northenders VFW 2349 Stockyard Road, instead of Halls Harley Shop.  Just wanted to make sure I go to the right place.

Thanks

Cooridination has been made with the Northender's VFW but if you go to Halls HD you can go to the back of Halls and it is co-located  parking lot to parking lot (across a little rock so be carefull).  You'll find us.
Look forward to seeing you.

I was Spec. Reynolds fireteam leader in Iraq. The support and and kind words were outstanding. I was proud to stand with the guard and know in my heart that "ROOT" Reynolds would have appreciated what was done for him and his family. I can't thank you all enough for the support and I hope I can repay everyone for being there. Losing a good friend and soldier is never easy but the guard was there to help. Semper Fi

I just wanted to say I was very proud to be part of this wonderful group on this mission for Rodney Reynolds. All you Riders are a great bunch of people and know how to show your respect for our soldiers and everyone else.I just wish there were more people like you and I will be always be proud to stand with you all as long as the good Lord will allow. I would also like to thank the family of Rodney Reynolds for the invite in the service and the reception afterwards. Also Rose you did a great job as our Ride Captain and I got a compliment on my picture I had pinned on me of Rodney from one of his friends so thanks for putting it up here so I could get it.
