SPC. Chester W. Hosford earned my respect and gratitude when he volunteered to serve our country. His efforts to make the world a safer place will be remembered with honor and appreciation by this American family.
My sincere condolences to the family and friends. You will remain in my prayers as the family of a hero. Thank you for the precious sacrifice - your beloved Chester - that you have given to America. We are, and always will be, grateful.

PROMOTION FOR RECENT FALLEN SOLDIER
Spc. Chester Hosford promoted to
rank of sergeant
DIXON
– 1st Lt. Derwin Williams, 41, and Spc. Chester Hosford, 35, both deployed with
Troop B, 2nd Battalion, 106th Cavalry based in Dixon, were killed in action
July 6
in
Afghanistan.
Hosford
has been posthumously promoted to the rank of sergeant.

Illinois Governor Quinn has issued a proclamation that all state facilities fly the United States flag and the State flag at half-staff during the funeral days of every fallen Illinois resident serving in the U.S. Armed Forces who is killed in the line of duty.
