Thank you for being the R/C for this mission. As a newbie to an RNC honors mission, I was not quite sure what I'm supposed to do. But it wasn't difficult to figure out. All I had to do was to listen, watch what everyone else did, and to remember to be respectful, courteous, and compassionate towards the family.
To all who rendered honors at Michael K Faustner's service:
It was the first burial service that my daughters have ever attended and they were fascinated by it all. Aside from witnessing all of the patriotism, respect, and honor being rendered to a fallen Veteran, they were excited to see so many motorcycles in one place at one time. The flags, the colors, the riders with their patches and pins...it definitely was a treat for my girls.
It was an honor and a privilege to stand with so many War/Combat Vets and Patriots as we all honored a fallen U.S. Navy Vet. All of you are awesome! I look forward to standing with you at future missions. God bless you all and thank you for your service and your support to the military of our country.
And also: many thanks to the PGR brothers who replanted the flags that had fallen at the gravsites adjacent to the shelter. My daughters had noticed that several flags had fallen as we drove by the shelter to park. They didn't say a word, but I know they were watching as one PGR brother started righting those flags that had fallen. His actions helped reinforce their knowledge of what honor, respect, and sacrifice truly means.
