There are no words to express my gratitude for PFC Ogden's service, the sacrifice by him, his family and friends, and the sympathy I feel for all who knew him. I will stand tall and silent at his memorial.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Pfc. Matthew D. Ogden ,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.
We salute you , My Friend
Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

PFC Ogden, Thank you for your service and your sacrifice. It is because of Soldiers such as yourself that has kept my family safe and free. The uniform you wear represents the spirit and tradition of all those that have served. It represents honor, pride and a committment of courage and willingness to sacrifice the most precious thing of all for others, and that is your life. We had the honor to send you off that day from the airport not so long ago, had the opprotunity to shake your hand and tell you "thank you", now we stand in silent respect, wiping the tears from our eyes, of your life and your accomplishments. Thank you PFC, you will be missed, but never forgotten. You can rest now Soldier, we have the watch. HAND SALUTE....... |

Thank you for the mission you gave to your life in protecting our freedoms, and striving to give others, theirs. The lives of you and the men and women who have gone before you are raised high, and not given in vain. I honor you, and pray that our children will learn to do the same throughout coming generations. God bless your family, and may they keep their memories alive and rejoice in the life of a hero.
