Would it be okay if my sister (JustMe5155) and I be waiting at Atterbury with flags for the deploying soldiers? Atterbury backs up to part of my place and since we would be caging it we thought we could just provide more of the welcome at this point in their journey. I also would try to get more people to join us here. If it is okay, do you have an ETA at Atterbury?

AT the very least I will meet Chief and co at SR5.

Pinky will also be at Atterbury for the day, I will see that she brings the flags (15 total), so any body that wants to meet there, there will be a few flags.

Ride safe, and I'll see everyone on the road tomorrow

For those that have fallen, I will stand. I will not forget.

Just got off the phone with the main man at the armory in jackson,He said that he wanted the convoy to be on the highway by 10 mins to 12:00 we will have police escort all the way to the line but he didnt get ahold of "his connection" in your fine state. I guess they were busy today feeding the troops and their familys 1600 of them. He also said that there would be no stopping until they got to camp atterbury. He said they were expecting 200 bikes tomorrow to lead out with.He was overjoyed that the indiana PGR was going to see these fine soldiers all the way to camp and also greatfull for the welcoming group that was going to be staged at the camp waiting for them. I guess I have done all I can do know but ride in the morning until I run out of gas, makes me wish for a bigger tank. I have been thinking about IV bags and all kinds of stuff I could rig up for the extra millage. Again I want to THANK YOU all for the help, BE SAFE my freinds.

($DEITY name here), I love GPS. Too bad I don't have it rigged up on the bike yet (only in the cage )

From the starting point mentioned in the Michigan thread, it's 68 miles to Exit 3, 229 miles to I-465 in Indy, and 272 to Camp Atterbury.

I figure if they dont do alot of traveling in the parade I should be able to make it to gas city. I am sure Kroozer and his nephew will go with me or further if they can. Nuggett thats a different story, she starts looking for gas a little over a 100 miles, must be that color of yellow or maybe them training wheels she's got on it. Did say she was going to put a gas can in her trunk, now if she can just fuel on the fly she be good.
I will see some of you tomorrow, looks like we are going to be busy up here not in a good way either.

With that I'm going to leave Indy about 9. Ironically I live right by the intersection of I-465 and I-69, so about 3 hours and I'll be at the Michigan line.

Skye/Pinky, that would be great if you are at the entrance to Atterbury.  I estimate that we should be there around 4:15-4:30pm.  I also think that I will be at the 96th/i-69 entrance around 3:30 instead of 4:00 just to be sure I am there in time.  Sounds like a good crew all the way down and I look forward to riding with everyone.   Ride safe and see ya tomorrow!!

I realize it is really late notice, but Pinky has permission form the base brass to bring any of you onto base for a quick trip to the Search and Rescue Academy. If time allows there may even be a quick demo of a couple dogs and a tour.
A word of caution, the last 200 yards and the parking area are gravel.

The rules are (you knew there would be some);
1 – We ride in and out together
2 – No one strays from the designated route
3 – You MUST ware a helmet on base
4 – You MUST have a valid MC endorsement on your drivers license
5 – You must e-mail me your name (real, first and last) for the “list”
drandolph1163@yahoo.com
6 – Blaze orange is not required but would be appreciated

Hope to see many of you there!

I am planning on meeting up with the escort at the 140 Mile marker to bring you into Indy to I465. That's the limits of my fuel. My first ride sounds like it will be memorable. See ya there!
