Thank you for my freedom Mr Jones. May you rest in peace.

“Some people’s lives can truly make a difference however long or short their lives on earth. They give the gifts of kindness and of caring. They sow the seeds of friendship and self-worth. Some people’s lives are beautiful examples of putting others first, and when they are gone, the lives of those they touched are so much richer, and the love they shared lives on and on.”

It's 4:00 p.m. October 31st and we have just found out about the mission for our dear friend Lester Jones. Lester was always there for everyone for what ever the need. He served his country and his Lord well and with pride. He was not afraid to tell you about either and every time you saw him he did so. We are so sorry to have missed this mission but we were out of town and just got back in today. Thanks to all the PGR members that showed up for this mission because you stood for a great man. Lester is sitting with God today no doubt. To his family we send our condolences and tell you we share in your loss. He will be missed in our church, our community and our hearts. Live your life by his examples and you'll see him again on the golden shore.

MISSION REPORT, WILLIAM LESTER JONES, WWII US Army Veteran
We had 4 PGR members present for Lester's visitation last night, and in the family's words THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH. There were even 2 of his young great-grandsons that held flags in the flag line.
For the service / escort today, we had 6 PGR members make it, plus 3 of Lester's young great-grandsons, again THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH, from the family. Listening to the family tell stories, you could tell right away the caliber of a man that Lester was. When you hear that he walked from Brevard NC to Asheville NC in December of 1943 in order to enlist (about 30 miles), the action speaks for itself. One of Lester's grandsons works for the local Sheriffs Dept, so he led his grandfather home to his Lord and Savior today. Weather was nice and full military honors were rendered by the local VFW chapter.
As one of the Ministers said today, it is sad for all of us without him, but it was a great day for Lester to go home to be with Jesus. We definitely lost one of our Great American Heros, but Lester, Sir, WE WILL NEVER FORGET YOU!!!!!

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of William Lester Jones ,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.

We salute you , My Friend

Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.
Just as brightly as his brass.
"Step forward now,soldier.
How shall I deal with you?
Have you always turned the other cheek?
To My Church have you been true?"
The soldier squared his shoulders and said,
"No, Lord, I guess I ain't.
Because those of us who carry guns,
Can't always be a saint.
I've had to work most Sundays,
And at times my talk was tough.
And sometimes I've been violent,
Because the world is awfully rough.
But, I never took a penny,
That wasn't mine to keep....
Though I worked a lot of overtime.
When the bills just got too steep.
And I never passed a cry for help,
Though at times I shook with fear.
And sometimes, God, forgive me,
I've wept unmanly tears.
I know I don't deserve a place,
Among the people here.
They never wanted me around,
Except to calm their fears.
If you've a place for me here, Lord.
It needn't be so grand.
I never expected or had too much,
But if you don’t, I’ll understand.
There was a silence all around the throne,
Where the saints had often trod.
As the soldier waited quietly,
For the judgment of his God.
"Step forward now,soldier
you’ve borne your burdens well.
Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets;
you’ve done your time in Hell."
