| Just got home . It was a great experience to see the crowds that turned out for Matt . PGR PRIDE ... thats what we showed them today . Thank you to all the PGR especially our leadership for a job well done . I heard that Law Enforcement estimated 2500 bikes , I would say 4000 bikes. I counted several long stretch limos & 24 Motor Patrolmen in the procession . When the bikes were parked downtown they streched five Cincinnati city blocks . What a sight . I would also like to thank everyone from Aces & Eights Harley Davidson for the wonderful food that they provided for all ... after the mission . Thank you to the whole Maupin family for allowing us to take part in the services & allowing us to Honor Matt . |

Home safe. What an awesome weekend and absolute turnout for paying respects and honoring this American Hero. To those who held the flag line and those who rode great distances to be here, words alone are not enough to describe the feeling of pride in this "community" of ours for all the love and support given to this fine family.
A special thank you to Carolyn and Keith Maupin for allowing us to be a part of this tremendous event and for sharing in the life of Matt.

| We stood Sat. evening. When we left at 11:00 pm, there was still over a 2 hour wait in line. The air was getting chilly by then, but it didn't stop folks from coming to honor this hero who sacrificed everything for us, for his country. Keith and Carolyn, you are an inspiration to us all. Thank you for the honor of standing up for such a brave soldier. We'll continue to remember you in our prayers. |

Riding in honor of our nephew, Hospitalman Apprentice Gary T. Frost, U.S. Navy, 05/16/74 - 12/04/94 -------- What Heroes Gave
Each donned their uniform to be Defenders of our liberty
Their mission sure, their spirits bright Guard freedom’s home, be brave to fight
One final day each faced their call Each gave their best enduring all
We’ll never know what they went through But know they loved this country true
Deep down inside we should all feel What heroes gave, their cost so real
We must stay thankful, grateful of The gift of freedom through their love
Their loved ones bore the gravest pain What we can’t know, some now sustain
To God I pray their pain will cease And each will find long-lasting peace
Remember this from year to year What heroes gave – shan’t disappear
We’ll never let their special day Their time for honor slip away
These brave fought for a nation free If not for them, where would we be?

| Home Safe, My daughter and myself want to Thank the Maupin family for allowing us to honor their son today. May God bless and hold you in the palm of His hand. It was nice to see a big town act like a small town with all the support. A great ride to the service thanks to Local LEO and a moving time at the ballpark. Thank You. |

It was an honor to stand for Matt. I arrived at 1830 for a visitation that started at 1100 and was to continue for 20 hours. I left at 0138 after fresh PGR troops arrived at around 0100. I'm certain that the fresh troops carried the flag line to 0700 - or until the early morning PGR troops arrived. I'm very proud to be a part of the PGR line that stood for 20 hours to honor a true Hero.
To Carolyn and Keith - Hold your head high, Matt will be missed, but never forgotten. Godspeed Matt.

We had a wonderful turnout and a fine day in Oregon to honor Matt Maupin today. 103 bikes & 10 cages from Washington and Oregon gathered at the Afghan-Iraq Freedom Memorial in Salem, OR. Brigadier General Yriarte and Oregon Dept of Veteran's Affairs Director Willis spoke, two Gold Star Mothers (and a father) presented the flowers, the Honor Guard performed the Flag Folding Ceremony and Rifle Salute, Taps was played and our Bagpiper played Amazing Grace. It was a lovely ceremony.
Keith & Carolyn, we were all proud and honored to gather together today to render honors and pay tribute to your beautiful son - for his life, his service, and his sacrifice for his country. May Americans never forget the price of freedom. Although the miles were many, we were nearby and stood shoulder to shoulder with you this day. This day, we honored a Hero~~ This day, we paid our respects~~ This day, we gathered for Keith Matt Maupin~~ This day, we remembered and said Thank You~~ This day, we honored a Hero~~~ We will remember~~~~
May you find strength and comfort in knowing that others stood with you across America today. Sending hugs your way. Thank you for allowing us to share in this day.

What a day! Once again my condolences to the Maupin family. Matt is looking down and helping to guide all of us. He will not be forgotten.
I want to thank everyone for keeping it a safe day and following the Ride Capt. direction even though we changed things on the fly. You made my job as tailgunner seem easy. Again a big THANK YOU to everyone for working with us. To those who joined us at the upper level flag line you did a great job. If you think about it we drew the attention away from them and we even had a water stand. I think we left him with a $20.00 tip. Just before we left a citizen bought 20 bottles of water for us.
I would also like to thank the LEO for there control of traffic to keep our riders safe. |

I as well am back at home this evening. What a weekend. Sat was a stressful trip to Cincinnati seeing how everyones bike broke at one time or another. We arrived in the late evening as WildChild said it was definately getting chilly and as they were leaving we replaced her and Mike and stood till the middle of the nite and then returned in the am for the final stages of this Mission.
Bob Woods and the entire PGR what a job well done. Sooo many groups and types of people all in one place coming together for one purpose.!!!!! It was very moving...
Gumby my dear I hope you recover soon and let me tell you , you are one "tuff" cookie. I admire the Love you have for your SOLDIERS.!!!!
And to the Maupin Family THANK YOU. For allowing all of us to stand and HONOR your Family and Matt. Yes I saluted Matt as he passed and held my salute for the entire Family, of course till I seen Gumby and then blew her a kiss.
I have several great video clips on my camera if I ever figure out how to get them to my comp then to disc all are welcome to them. |

We would have been honored to stand with you today. However we live in Caifornia and we unable to be there in person to honor and pay tribute to Matt. We were able to watch the service on ONN. There were a lot of tears shed. Matt was a hero to so many people across the nation. You can see how much he was loved and admired. I am so proud of our PGR brothers and sisters for being there for Matt, his family and the community. You are an awsome group of men and women. Your prescence brought a lot of comfort. My husband wore Matt's POW-MIA bracelet for a couple of years. We will remember him always. To Matt's family and friends, we are very sorry for your loss. May your wonderful memories help to make your days easier. Barbara & Jim Poway, Ca |

A huge thank you to all that helped with Matt's homecoming. it was flawless, and I hope no one got hurt on the trips in or back.
As a resident of the area, a Vet, but primarily someone that watched Matt and Micah grow up, kids in sports together, just a huge thanks for a well done job to all. I ride on as many PGR missions as I am able, but back and knees minimize my time on the flag lines and travel distances, but I do as much as I can locally in support.
My wife wondered why I rode to many escorts, now after she and my 12 yr old daughter got to meet many of you at the Yellow Ribbon Center, she now understands,.
This community has been praying Matt home for 4 years, and your overwhelming support of Matt and family is welcome.
I had the delightful task of escorting Nikki Mendicino on a tour of Matt's old haunts. To be riding around with 3 beautiful women on a Saturday morn after seeing Matt come home , Nikkii, her mom Michelle, and my daughter Lexi (who really thinks PGR folks are "neat") was an honor. those that are not aware of Nikkin Mendicino and her contributions to the POW/MIA issue, can visit her site at:
http://nikkiusa.com/ http://www.myspace.com/nikkiusa
I am sure she will again be at the DC RT events as a speaker this year. awesome lady. give her a hug.

What an honor it was for Charlie and I to stand in line with all of you. We were on the upper level flag line with many of you. The camaraderie we shared was fantastic. I received two telephone calls today; one from Georgia and the other from Texas letting me know the PGR made National news. Impressive, grateful and amazing are just a few of the words I heard to describe the PGR. Bob Woods and many others spent hours dealing with the logistics of these two days, thank you. I am sure it was not an easy task; job well done. As I have heard Bob say many times, this is a team effort, it takes all of the PGR working together to do what we do. All I can say is - what a great team to be on!
To the Maupin family and all of the wonderful volunteers at the Yellow Ribbon Support Center: We have been and will continue to be here for you and the Troops.
God Bless America, the Maupin family, the Yellow Ribbon Support Center volunteers and the PGR.

It was an honor to stand the Flag Line on Second Street on Sunday and to stand and salute the Funeral procession on 5th Street as they passed by. I especially want to thank the Maupin Family for allowing the City to participate and mourn along with them.
Someone else mentioned how great it was to see Cincinnati...a big town turn out like it was a small town and it really did. It was especially rewarding to see families bring their children down for the service and show them their support for America's service men and women and the families that love and support them. In a little way, it helped restore my faith in America.
I have seen estimates of over 4000 motorcycles and since we lined seven (7) city blocks with bikes, I think that is a realistic number. The procession stretched for what I belive was at least 4 miles up I-71. The PGR Ride Captains and all the volunteers did a magnificent job. Local law enforcement should be commended as well. The fact that so many PGR participated and no accidents or mishaps were reported is testament to how well it went. JOB WELL DONE!
Rest in Peace SSG Maupin and thank you for looking out for us yesterday! |

I want to again express my condolences to the Maupin Family and their friends. I thank and applaud Bob Woods, Steve Verrigni, the staff of the Yellow Ribbon Support Center for planning and executing what appeared to be a seamless 2 day mission. Thanks to all the other organizations that pitched in to help with donations of food, materials, personnel etc. And many thanks to all of the selfless PGR members who traveled from far and near to make this event what is was, a Mission of Remembrance, Honor and Respect. Thank you from the Michigan contingent of the PGR for making us all feel so much at home and welcome. This was truly an example of our "no borders" philosophy. If anyone comes up to the frozen tundra, please get in touch.
