Posted By Laura23 on 04/10/2006 2:35 PM We are planning to attend. We will be in our car. Is it appropriate to put a logo in the window to identify ourselves? Please let me know what is acceptable. Thank you!
It is more than appropriate, I would think that if you had a few window flags on the car, that would be plenty of identification. If you want a big banner, that would be just fine. If you don't do anything but show up, that is good too!

For anyone in Kansas, here's a copy of my post in the Midwest Region forum, under "Kansas plans for OKC, 4/15?". Check that thread for the list of hotels, if you're interested. ====================================================
Ok folks... looks like we're on our own. The local ALR have other business to attend to, so as far as I've been able to figger out, there's not going to be an organized group ride to OKC.
Dana & I will be at the Conoco (C&C Stop) on the SW corner of 47th St & Laura between 6-6:15 am Saturday. It's right near the hotels that I listed above. AIS (ass in saddle) at 6:30. We plan to head down the turnpike to OKC, stopping in Perry, OK (Conoco) for gas & whatever else is necessary. According to MapQuest it's right at 95 miles to Perry... figger that oughtta be doable for whoever's with us. I-35 south to the Kilpatrick Turnpike in OKC. West to MacArthur Blvd. To Britton Rd. To Rockwell Ave. And to the staging area. These directions are from MapQuest... we're not familiar with OKC, so if anybody has a better idea, we're open.
Any and all are wlecome to join us. Highlander, stclassic, bogie, Barry, and others.... if y'all would either post here or shoot me an email, it'd be nice to know approximately how many people we're expecting so we don't run off and leave anybody.
Tim Waggoner, if you're listening... you just come on. If you & your friend are driving the car to OKC, we have a bike seat for you to sit on from the staging area to the cemetary. Unless there's someone else who's used to having passengers, and is willing.... Dana said he'd be happy to give you a ride....
Looking forward to meeting everyone....

Heads up Houston PGR
Heads up Houston, we are going to OKC, Ok for the services for TSgt Patrick Shannon.
This will be a most honorable mission, and we are lucky and humbled by being provided the ability to participate.
Several thousand riders will congregate in OKC for this occasion, from all over the nation.
Here is our route:
Rally point: Shell Gas Station at the SW corner of 1960 and 290
KSU is 6:30AM.
We will travel North on 1960
1960 North to 45N (left turn)
We will pick up Josh Noble In Huntsville. “Exit 114, Montgomery Rd. There is an Exxon gas
station on your right immediately after the light. It is on the access road, so no turns are necessary, just go through the light and the station is on your right. I will be there!”
45 N to Highway 20 W , about 210 miles
20 W to 360 N, 15 miles
360 N to 183 W, 10 miles
183 W to 121 N, 2 miles
121 N to 114 W 4 miles
114 N to 35 N 8 miles
(this will take us around Dallas and Ft Worth traffic)
35 N to Denton Exit 471 at the TA, We will rendezvous with a North Texas contingency. 40 miles
KSU from there is 1:00 PM
35N/235 N to I 40 W, 180 miles – OKC
Exit #145 off of I 40 W on Meridian. Destination, Days Inn at Meridian. There is a good size contingency of PGR’s at this Days Inn. We will ride together to the staging point on Sat AM.
Dont forget to bring change, quarters, from the postings on the forum it seems that it will take about $4.00 to travel on the OKC toll road. An idea I heard is to put $4.00 in quarters in 2 baggies, for easy access.
We will stop at every 100 miles for gas and rest. We’ll have lunch in Denton at the Truck Stops of America (TA).
For the return, depending on the size of the group, Josh has offered a place to spend the night in Denton. It’s a relative’s place, no beds, but couches and floor space. This is available as an option. Continue on to Houston on Sunday morning.
I will make the trip back with Josh, crashing at the option crash pad Sat night.
Many thanks Josh for coordinating that.
Lets ride Houston, lets show our PGR spirit; this is sort of a long trip, but its one that you will never ever forget.

PDDGM check your email...
For those who will be in Claremore Friday night you can get some great tasting hamburger and fries for $5 not including drinks as there is a bar at the VFW that is directly south of the Claremore Expo Center on 1717 W. Dupont Street. Hwy 20 runs north/south on the west side of the Expo Center. This benefits the VFW and Rogers County Abate. You can meet several of the RC Abate that night as some of them will be cooking and others come to enjoy the meal. I am not kidding when I say the hamburgers are great tasting!

I will be there for this long overdue homecoming. I'll be en-route from the Mission for CWO3 Hartwick in Mo. I wish to thank Patrick's family for allowing me the honor of participating in Patrick's final earthly journey. They are in my thoughts and prayers. May they be comforted by having Patrick home and knowing that many Americans look upon Patrick and his compatriots as true HEROS.

From the Oklahoma traffic website:
On-going construction continues to narrow I-35 in Love County to one lane in both direction from the Red River north about nine miles.
Looks like this will be slow going, No other construction listed between this area and OKC |

| There is construction coming North on I-35 at 19th street in Moore. You might consider taking Highway 9 West to Newcastle and hitting I-44. This appears to be out of the way, but will connect you with I-40 W and on to Meridian. The 19th Street construction sometimes gets bottlenecked and with it being Easter weekend, it could get that way early. |
