Houston Itinerary is below for Gunnery Sgt. John D. Fry services this Thursday the 23rd:

Please join us as we honor Gunnery Sgt. John D Fry who gave all for you and me.

We have been gearing up for this mission for almost two weeks. Let’s have a big turn out from the area to honor this fallen hero. Try to bring at least one new member with you. We had 123 bikes in temple yesterday and half were first time PGR riders, I expect 200 bikes from across the state to turn out in Waco, lets make sure our area is well represented. We do except the WBC to be present again.

I need a final head count for the Houston staging area, please ONLY reply if you will be a there or if you plan to meet us in Waco .

Houston Staging area: Whataburger HWY 290 & Spring Cypress (Next to the Home Depot)
Time: 7:15AM KSU at 7:45AM sharp

Hwy 290 to HWY 6 to Waco
Distance 160 miles estimated travel time with one extended break 3 hours

We will make one extended 20 minute break in Hearne for gas, rest rooms and fluids. It is 4 lanes to Hearne, only two lanes from Hearne to Waco and there is construction so we will need to be fresh for this stretch.

We will travel in a staggered formation, at or close to the speed limit. If it starts to ran increase your distances in formation. Stay alert! Know your riding limits and do not exceed them.

RC’s for Houston ride to Temple will be all or a combination of: Boomer, Geo, JohnnyD and Kaoz
Boomer may be meeting us in route.

Weather (like someone can actually predict the weather in Texas)
Thursday, Mar 23 Intervals of clouds and sunshine. Winds from the ENE at 15 mph. High: 64° F RealFeel®: 60° F
Thursday Night: Partly cloudy. Winds from the NNE at 14 mph. Low: 45° F RealFeel: 38° F

Remember to carry extra layers as it was much colder yesterday in Temple than it was when we left Houston.

Staging Site and Time in Waco: From 1100 to 1200 hrs. at the parking lot of the Macgregor Municipal Airport, U.S. Highway 84 west of Waco.

Service Time: 1PM Friendship Bible Church

This will be a long day folks, but one you will never forget. We ride for those who gave all for us but when the day is done we have gained so much in return. Those of us who have ridden know what I mean.

Bring flags so we may display a sea of red, white & blue!!!!

Stand tall and proud for Gunnery Sgt. John D. Fry

Master Chief -

Thanks for coordinating this mission's ride for the SA crew so we can once again hit the road to pay our final respects to another fallen hero(GSgt Fry)....I will definitley be there with you for this mission. The mission up to Temple for PFC Amy Duerksen was outstanding!!! I sincerely believe her family was extremely impressed and Fred Phelps' goons failed miserably!!!

Would also like to request a quick review of protocol before KSU...such as maintaining proper formation, proper entry into the church/cemetery (no blasting the pipes) etc... so we can all get better at this w/ each new mission.

Again, thanks for all you hard work in coordinating the rally points and then leading the pack.

By the way, nice river boat attached to your link...how do you go about adding a logo...would like to add one of my own.

Thanks,

North Texas staging areas for Sgt John D. Fry 23 March 2006

I have been appointed as ride coordinator for the North Texas area for the time being.

If you have not noticed we had an excellent turnout and ride on the Temple Mission. We can do better, I urge everyone to make a maxamum effort to attend. With the UGs now protesting in Texas we need to present such a presence they will not want to return.

A possibilty of rain exist for Thursday and may warrant a time change. I will
re-post later in the week as needed.

Riders using I-35E will stage at Whataburger in Red Oak Texas at I-35E and Ovilla Rd. We will depart at 8:15 sharp to meet riders using I-35W at McDonalds in Hillsboro Texas (exit 368a HWY 22 & I-35) across from Loves Truck Stop.

The combined group will depart 9:45 sharp for the Waco staging area at Macgregor Municipal Airport HWY 84 and I believe what is Val Verde Rd. There is a Shell Station at that location and just before the airport entrance.

Waco staging is 11:00 to 12:00 with plans set and releases signed we will depart for the church at 12:20

If you are unable to meet at either location, additional information and routing will be posted by the State and Ride Captains throughout the week.

Ride safe as we honor this fallen hero and his family

No Sweat, as far as I'm concerned the sooner we get out of Dallas on a weekday morning, the better. I'll be in the red car in my Avatar.

My drive down to Austin this morning was no problem. At least two lanes were open the entire route.

Master Chief,
I plan on making this mission too. I will be watching your posts for any changes and updates and will most likely fall in with you guys as you pass through Burnet again. Went to the Motorcycle show at Joe Freeman Colosseum in San Antonio today. Thought I might bump into some PGR members but didn't recognize anyone.

Anyone comming in from the north, OKC, Duncan, Lawton, Wichita Falls ect. I cleared it with the boss and she said if any of you want to come in the night before, you would be welcome at the house. RULES: 1. Dont kick the dog, 2. Dont drink the LAST beer and 3. Please No smoking in the house.:-) Wichita Falls is a good 2 to 2 1/2 hour ride, points north even longer. We are on I-35w so it would be a good stopping point if needed. RSVP (let me know if you are comming) via email: wmrbwell@yahoo.com or call 817 905-7448.

Thursday morning start time should be about 0700. If you know the area I would suggest taking I-820 around the west side to I-35w then down to Altamesa Blvd. This keeps you off I-35 durring rush hour.

This is my first mission, If I can help in any way please call or email.

Count me in, my first too.

Just bought a V-Star this morning, just need to get it insured, tagged, inspected, oil changed, and a little shake-down around town for a few days before I take it on the road.   Hopefully the rain will let up for a little bit tomorrow enough so I can go get it.

If any problems I'll cage my way down there if I have to.

jki659, I'm coming from Forney, I'll meet you guys at LBJ & Gross Rd.

The Gunny's an amazing man.   It's a privilege to be able to do this for him.

North Texas staging areas for Sgt John D. Fry 23 March 2006

I have accepted a position of Texas Ride Captin and will serve as Ride Coordinator for the North Texas area.

If you have not noticed we had an excellent turnout and ride on the Temple Mission. We can do better, I urge everyone to make a maxamum effort to attend. With the UGs now protesting in Texas we need to present such a presence they will not want to return.

A possibilty of rain has been removed for Thursday so that will not be an excuse. I will re-post later in the week as needed.

I have just talley persons standing by and we curently have 130 riders commited on this thread from all of the Texas area. We have a good start so everyone get out and do some additional recruiting.

Maybe I cant find it due to the fact that I am new to this or just maybe it is the old ya cant see the forest for the trees syndrome kicking in. But, I am just north of Austin in Georgetown and was wondering if there is a group from the Austin area heading up for the services established for Sgt John D. Fry?

If I cant find a group coming out of Austin would it be possible for me to meet the San Antonio group at your scheduled fuel stop in Lampasas between 0900 and 0930?

Ranger,

Austin Area Ride Captians are Tad "Bexarwolf" Eubanks and Tim Carrington.

I received an e-mail from Bexarwolf last night stating he was going to recon a staging area in north Round Rock.  Based on the turnout last Thursday for Pfc's Duerksen's mission, he feels that it  may not be a large enough staging area for Gunnery Sgt. Fry.

Tad is very didligent about posting staging information and I would expect it to be here shortly.
