Thanks for that experience guys.  I was the one running after ya'll in the blue toyota hatchback.

Tad did a great job and I appreciate the warm welcome for all you riders.  The chain of command was solid and organization was tops.

Since OIF began I've been to a few services with old Army friends but most have been on my own and I usually feel like I'm intruding.  It was nice to be with a group like this for a change.

Talking to a general without being told that I need a hair cut was cool too.

Thanks for the experience everyone.

Standing by,
Gregg

Texas Roadstar if you tell me how to post them up for all to see I will do it.

I can't get the news from News 8 Austin because that is a channel exclusive to TimeWarner Cable customers only.

I was going to look at the address of some of the other photos on the "photos" page and they wouldnt come up. So if you want, you cansend them to me and I would be happy to post them to a page on my web and then I will post the address for all to veiw.
maybe email the PGR webmaster a set of the photos and they will post them up, but until then I can ost and host all photos of this event if anybody wants to email them to me.

today was a very moving experience for me and many others, it seems. i made some new friends, and hopefully helped a great bunch of people lift the spirits of a heartbroken family. ideally, it would be nice if we weren't needed anymore after this, but if/when we are, i do my best to be there.....

if anyone has pics they wouldn't mind sharing, i like to put a few on my pbase album website. my email address is kbforkbrace(at)aol(dot)com.

thnx in advance

ok, I just saw where bexarwolf posted where to send them to for the PGR web. I would still like to be able to see em all though and will offer the use my bandwidth to host any that dont make the main site. Or thye can send the ones to me and I will host and send the addy for their inclusion to the site, basically using my space and their page for veiwing.
Also Big Shell has an addy and an album for the photos as well.
Thanks again folks, may God bless each and everyone of you for going through the trouble for a hero we never met. As you know, it made a huge impact not only on the family, but the small community as well.
I am honored to ride with the PGR and will never forget the real reason we assembled. May God Bless Tina and her family.

Home again after a 14 hour day.  Thanks to Big R for letting me trailer my bike with his.  It saved me lots of hail bruises when the storm hit us at 5:45 am.

Tad, great mission!  Of course, this means you'll be leading them all from now on, at  least the ones in Central Texas (and you're welcome to lead in East Texas any time).

Thanks to everyone for your participation, and the honor & respect shown to the Priest family.  Tina had to be smiling from a lofty place, and getting a kick out of all the folks flying flags for her today in Smithville.

Until the next one, ride safe and may God bless............

Wow…. What a day. I sit here now reflecting upon the days events with watery eyes, while I am listening to Lee Greenwood (“God Bless The USA”) and thinking about Tina and the PGR. I am literally awestruck by the effects that this young lady has had on so many people. I never had the privilege of meeting her, but even after leaving us she continues to make this world a better place than it was the day before. I only hope that her family can take some little comfort from that fact. She must have been a very special person: her family should be proud and rejoice in the time that she blessed us on this earth.

If by any chance that there is any additional communication with the family:

Please tell them Thanks for allowing us to show our gratitude and respect for Tina during this time. I considered it a privilege and I am grateful that they allowed us to attend. People react differently and as much as I wanted to show my respect and appreciation, I would never want to intrude upon a family during such dark times.

Everyone did seem to react positive to our presence. As someone mentioned earlier, I saw several people come out of the church gasping and covering their mouths as they saw the PGR lined up along the street with all of the flags for Tina. I don’t know about the others, but that alone made it all worth it for me. I did not get the opportunity to express my condolences to the parents. I have a son, who is currently a marine overseas, and I have had deal with the fears. I am so sorry for their loss. There is nothing that I can say, but may God Bless your family.

What a truly humbling and inspiring experience, Thank You Tina.

As usual I am a loss for words as to the honor I felt today to pay a small homage to a fallen hero. I met a great number of wonderful people today, riders and non-riders. I pray that God gives the Priest family the strength to carry on in the days to come and comfort in knowing that Tina is in God's hands.

"... the Son of God who loved me and who sacrificed himself for my sake" (Gal 2: 20). "There is no greater love than to give one's life for one's brother".

Ride safe my brothers and sisters.

OOOPS. I was glade to be there to see every one supporting there hero of there town, the people in this town were very proud of this fine example of a true american hero. To see kids salute as we all did that was moving. To see all the bikes line the road as far as the eye could see that was special. To be there today to honor A great american Hero was my pleasure. The people of smithville my heart goes out toyou as I write this because today i felt the emotions that that town felt. The people i spoje with loved this american hero. After the it was all said and done this towns folk asked use to come to lunch. We got time to speak to the genral. It was great that he took the time out of it all to come a support us.This ride will forever play in my heart and my mind. I will never forget those that have gone before me to pay that great prirce of freedom. So we ride tall in the saddle with our heads held high riding with respect and freedom in minds. Godspeed.

.

chase,

God bless you! You are about the same age as my son and the fact that you traveled so far just to pay your respects is simply amazing. If you are any indication of the generation that is about to come into power, then this world has nothing to worry about.

Thanks for giving this old man confidence in the next generation. And from a parent of a current marine, Semper Fi.

That thanks goes both ways.  It's always nice to look up or in your mirrors and see someone familiar.  Someone who will help if you need it.

That wind was a *little* stout.  Some truckers were making fun of us riding in that wind.  I think I suprised them when I keyed up and talked to them.  They didn't expect a CB on 2 wheels.  They stopped with the jokes and we had a decent conversation for a while.

Great ride today, and a great, very emotional experience. I hope that I get to see new friends again, but at the same time, hope that it is not at another funeral. I was proud to be there today. What a great group of people! The folks in Smithville were amazing. I watched as people came out of their homes and businesses and put their hands over their hearts or waved as we went by. The folks at the fire station were standing outside as a group, almost at attention. What a great town. It was so moving that I made a wrong turn on the way home and got the two people following me very confused. O.k., that's just an excuse...but it's the only one I have.

TX PGR, you are abosutly oustanding! You came to pay last respects to PFC Priest, and you did with grace and honor. You let Smithville know that America does care about her fallen troops, and America does stand behind them.

I was humble by the family coming to thank us; in their our of despair, they found the words to express apreciation, that is all the fuel I need to continue to honor our fallen heroes for as long as its necessary, or for as long as I can move.

My hearts goes out to the family, RIP Tina, the Lord will guard you now.

Texas PGR, you made this man very proud today. It was an honor to stand with you all.

I am humbled by the opportunity to show my gratitude to our Fallen Heroes.

Couldn't make the mission though I wanted to. I would have had to leave yesterday. It's a long haul from S.E. Kansas, but given enough time I would have done it.

Pfc. Tina M. Priest, May God rest your soul, and thank you for giving your all.

MUFFINS!

Bear, please thank those pretty ladies for them delicious muffins.  Falling outta bed at 6:30 toss this night owl's appetite and 4 blueberry muffins kept me chuggin 'till 2:30.  My thoughts on the drive back to Austin were split between American pride and food.

This guard stuff goes beyond those that ride/drive to these places.  It's the family/friends that support us, the coworkers that cover our shifts, the bosses that let us slide and so on.....

Respect,

I am proud to be in this company. Heros all, honoring heros, honored by heros.

I must agree with the previous poster, having a Brigadier General take the time to shake every hand and then spend time to chat with us, was an unbelievable experience. General Campbell has been there and done that, yet treated us like we were his own troops. I'd serve under him any day.

Well done PGR, well done.

Right on the money, Gregg. I know the gal that covered my shift today is going to be getting a "mission complete" dog tag when I she gets back to work Sunday. If she hadn't covered, I wouldn't have been there.

As for the muffins............well, some of them musta fallen into my saddle bag because several made it back to Round Rock. And a huge "thank you" email has been sent to them nice ladies.
