Wal Mart and Kmart both have the clip on flags as well, that you see on car windows, and will work well clipped to the top of your windshield. Less than three bucks, and easily installed and removed for the slow processsions.

But---not Made it America!

What if we don't have giant windshields?    I ride a muscle cruiser.

Also, there are many things that are considered "un American" that are assembled in the United States and have more American made materials than American based companies.  A prime example is Toyota and Honda.

Ride safe everyone!

Joe, I'm riding out from Glencoe in the morning on my bike and my wife and daughter are driving our bright red Firebird with red, white, and blue "Support Our Troops" plates on it! We were debating on riding into EP or going straight down to Mankato and meeting up with the staging area there. Are you looking at driving straight down going to thte Mankato staging area?

To all riders who will be attending this mission.

As to flying flags on your bike or cars, keep in mind that we will be traveling down Interstate 90, at 55 mph for about 8 miles.  If a flag mount breaks, or a flag falls off your bike and some one is injured or worse by either being struck by your flag and mount or some evasive maneuver results in an accident, you will be responsible.  Also, some one will have to trail behind the formation to pick up your flag, putting our support crews in danger on the interstate.

So please, for the safety of riders and support crews, and to properly show respect for the flag, secure your flags and gear prior to leaving Fairmont.

It is much more important on this mission that you bring a 3' x 5' flag with pole.

RIDERS:

I have about 200 bottles of water that are in my car (since i don't ride) These will be provided FREE to the riders. I will be at Lakeville TCHD for the start of the ride, if you are thirsty, look for a red Subaru station wagon. I have about 100 or so on ice.

I have some gatorade as well.

**My car is open for storage of flags or other materials that you are finding clumsy or can't fit on the bike. I will be around tonight if you wish to reach me, send me an email.

Eric-you the man.  I have a large flag, has been on at least a dozen missions, but I have no problem with it in the bags.  But the liquids will definitely be appreciated.  See you in the am.

My most heartfelt Thank You to Robert Posivio for his ultimate sacrifice, and my deepest condolences to his family and friends. I am honored to be attending, although due to limited (read that NO) experience riding in a group I will be on four wheels. Black Chevy z71, I have several large coolers, lots of ice and 200+ bottles of water and some pop. I will be meeting up with the Marshall area folks in Worthington tomorrow morning, and have plenty of room to carry.

Flagwaver, night*sky, Eric_bikeman, and I know I'm probably missing a few people here too...

Thanks for bringing out the bottled water for everyone. It is going to be a lifesaver!

Folks, I'm tired and I have to get up at 2:45, so I'm heading to bed.

See you all in the morning!

UNFORTUNATLY, MECHANICAL MALFUNCTIONS BEYOND OUR CONTROL WILL KEEP US OFF OF THIS MISSION. (I'M PISSED!) GOD WILL BLESS LANCE CPL POSIVIO AT THE SAME TIME HE'S LOOKING OVER HIS SHOULDER SEEING ROBERTS FAMILY SURROUNDED BY THE PGR.

Ladies and gentlemen,

I am with KEYC TV, and will be attending the funeral in my official capacity. However, my heart is with you in your ride and your mission. It is a fine line we in the media walk, attempting to be as unbiased as possible, presenting both sides of a situation, and that is what I will be attempting to do tomorrow. But tonight, I pray for all involved in this mission, and thank God you exist. I am not one to become emotional at the drop of a hat, but seeing the posts here was enough to choke me up a bit. We see terrible things in my line of work, and it is easy to become depressed and dismayed at the state of our country. Seeing patriotic, caring, and loving men and women like you makes everything worthwhile.

We are meeting the group at the Harley dealership in Mankato, and then riding with them to the staging area at Fairmont. Take care, drive safe, and I will see you all tomorrow. God bless.

I pray that I am able to particpate in this mission. My mother and both sets of grandparents are buried within 25 miles of Welcome. My great grandfather homesteaded a farm not far away when he came to America in the 1800s.

I know that the people of this part of the country are great Americans -- they epitomize the phrase "America, land of the free because of the brave!"

I know that Robert Posivio is in a better place; the same place as my mother and other relatives. I hope that we can all show the respect and admiration that he deserves and in a fashion that conveys to his family and friends the gratitude that we have for their sacrifice.

If I can make this happen, I will be heading north out of Omaha by 4 AM.

God bless all who are participating out of respect. May He have mercy on the misguided UGs. May He give all of us attending the patience we need to tolerate their shrill and inappropriate behavior.

Thank you for your post and your well wishes.  All of us in other states pray our riders are safe on their missions.  We watch the threads after the mission is complete to see that they check in and have arrived home safely.  I hope your experience with us tomorrow will touch you as it has touched all of us.  May you and your crew stay safe on your journey also.

I heard about this via the local news and a close friend of mine who is currently serving as a Sgt. in a local Army Reserve unit here in Minneapolis. We decided to do our part and are heading down tomorrow to assist in any way possible, and as a rider I felt obliged to join the group here. Granted we wont be on the bikes (it was a last minute notification) but we will still be there to send off our fallen brother with the honor he so greatly deserves and to make sure that his family gets the respect they so greatly deserve at this time. If there are any stragglers that are looking for people to hook up with along the way we will keep our eyes open for you or you can email me here at home tonight if you have any questions.

One Note: Everyone please keep in mind that tensions may run high and it is our responsibility to keep ourselves in line, our "wall of silence" will be heard farther and louder than any insult a protestor may shout out.

Lance Cpl. Robert G. Posivio III, you answered the call, it is our honor as your brothers and sisters in arms to send you off to a better place in the manner you so deserve, as a hero, and a true American......Semper Fi Marine.

My thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends, Robert gave for all of us, and we can give for all of you. We offer you our support and assistance and our most sincere condolences in these tough times to follow.

After finally reading all 10 pages of these posts, I'm reminded of a quote by the character "Hoot" in Black Hawk Down. I always thought it said what many of us in fields like these (Soldiers, sailors, Marines, police, firefighters) feel.

"When I get home people'll ask me, 'Hey Hoot, why do you do it man? Why? You some war junkie?' You know what I'll say? I won't say a goddamn word. Why? They won't understand. They won't understand why we do it. They won't understand that it's about the men next to you, and that's it. That's all it is."

I was deeply saddened to hear the news that the town of Sherburn and the beautiful town of Welcome could not be spared a visit from the UG's, and anywhere else for that matter.

Knowing the friendly and beautiful people of the area I am sure that Lance Cpl. Robert G. Posivio III was loved and will be truly missed more than I can fathom.

This location holds a DEAR space in my heart for eternity, as I spent my honeymoon in the town of Sherburn and had the best time in a little bar in Welcome, with the people that were gracious enough and wonderful enough to come up to us and speak to total strangers.  Knowing the beautiful, friendly people in that town I am mourning your loss with you, as I am sure, no rather positive, that he was a fine soldier, son, friend and MAN.

Your loss is sincerely felt beyond your town.  I am truly sorry for your loss.  May God Bless the family in the time of mourning.

My 1st post here.

Met up with a dozen or so riders @ 3:30 AM on the east side of St. Paul  (Tanners Lake Harley).  Work and family committments made this mission a no-go for me.

I look forward to active participation in the future......although I only ride on 4 wheels minimum!
Met some great folks who have the same mindset as I......to support the families that have lost a hero.

One rider (Dan of WI) unfortunately ended up with a flat and had to wait for Harley to open....sorry Dan wish I could have done more to help.

Hope all went well at the service.

Just got back to Bangor WI from the mission. All I can say is WOW, just Wow!! Somebody should have a count of the bikes, but I would say at least 300. One of the coolest things was that the locals fell right in with us. They may not be official, but they are members in my eyes. Wonderful SC and RCs, wonderful town, wonderful area. LCpl Posivio was well loved, and today he was well honored. I am in awe.

P.S. There is so much that came together and so much work by people today that I'll let the MN people fill it all in, just was wonderful!

The mission will be reported as a success as it should be. I just returned home with a headache and sunburn. However it is worth it all. I will be waiting for Gov. Pawlenty's comments.

I met town's people who have family in Irag, many of them on their second rotation. My thoughts are that rual American comes through again. You just can't go into small-town America without finding many of their young men and women serving in the war. I'm also learning that it appears the age of those serving have also gone up.

All those who have and are serving are heros for putting their tails on line. Go to bed tonight thinking about what our country would be like if we did not have those brave men and women serving.

God bless America.

Ladies and gentlemen,

It was a pleasure to meet some of you this morning. I was the short fellow from KEYC. This was the most emotional weekend of my life, and I want to thank you for the service you are providing for the families of our nation's heroes. The reporters and I tried to provide a dignified, honest account of what happened today, and I hope you will agree. The stories were the first and second at six today, the first centered on the funeral itself, and the second entirely on the Patriot Guard, and you can view them at the addresses listed below. (Internet Explorer, click "Watch Video" at the bottom.) The first story was finished and cued up three seconds before it was due to air - God was watching out for me today.

Our estimates for riders was somewhere in the 350-450 range. It was truly amazing.

Speaking for myself, I am going to try to make any of the Minnesota rides that I can. I am not a biker, but this mission is something I feel is important.

Oh, and the uninvited guests were not present. We were told they had been in town the previous day, but they did not make an appearance this morning.

What a day it was!!! We had a great turnout and there were no uninviteds to be seen. I'd like to thank everyone who donated and prepared food, gave out water, and supported us today. I was overwhelmed when we were asked to take a run through town and everyone lined the streets and clapped as we went by. I think I must have gotten a bug in my eye because I really teared up when I saw a Marine in his dress blues saluting me as I drove by him. Let me repeat that. A Marine in his dress blues saluting me. I felt so humbled by that I just wanted to pull over right there and tell him it is I who owe so much to him and all our men and women in the service. Thank you to everyone for allowing me the honor of taking part in such a wonderful cause. You all truly are the best.

My First post, and first mission,

I am honored to have been able to attend this mission. Throughout the day I kept thinking that being up late preparing for this mission, getting up after a 2 hour nap to head out for a long day in the hot sun was nothing compared to the sacrifices our servicemen and women and their families make on our behalf. It was very apparent to me that Lance Cpl. Robert G. Posivio III is loved and respected by a great many people.

I feel compelled to say thanks to a couple of people and groups. First, I am thankful to the family for inviting us, and allowing us to be of service. I must also say thanks to the wonderful people who provided water, sandwiches, cookies, pop, and even extra flags. It was beyond the call of duty, but I for one was greatly appreciative for the water and good food on this very warm and sunny day. Thank you, to the town of Welcome and surrounding areas for the generous hospitality. Thanks to the PGR leaders and volunteers for coordinating everything and managing to keep us on time, on track and safe. And lastly, although I am sure I am missing something, THANK YOU Cpl. Posivio and family for the service and sacrifice you have made on my country’s behalf. Rest in Peace Cpl. Posivio-- You will not be forgotten.

Sincerely,
SamHenry

A Quote from Edmund Burke sums it up.
"The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing."

Today very good men & women did something and good once again triumphed.
And evil loaded up the van and went back to Kansas.

What a day, it took me an hour to tell my husband about today, I kept getting over come with emotion. I finally did get it out, but you just had to be there..

Thank you all for being great Americans.
