I had no idea what the expect since this was my first mission and it was almost overwhelming. I am very thankful that I ended up riding out the Smithville (almost didn't go due to that early morning rainstorm) and today will be something that I will remember for the rest of my life. You can bet that I will be at any others that are in the central Texas area.
Thanks to everyone that organized today's events. |

Worth every dollar spent and mile laid...
Damn glad I made it.
Aint nothing like having a General thank YOU for YOUR service...felt good.
Hurt like hell to look at the family through all that, but to know they appreciated it made it all worthwile for me.
Eh now I just have to ready myself for the 300 miles back home!
Big THANK YOU to Torxster for showing me the way and taking time to pick me up.
Ill NEVER forget this day.
Adios |

| I got my first one today, I enjoyed the company, gave me a sense of patroitism and sorrow for our soldier who is finally home. Tab did good recon for the Austin folks, had a good breakfast and had to fight the wind on the way home. Houston folks should get good mileage on the way back! I rode back with SMackie and met Rich, Master Chief, HondaBob , Krash and the other fine folks. Our numbers are growing by leaps and bounds and I am ready in case we are needed again. Thanks to all! P.S. - My spouse just asked to see some photos and I had to break the bad news that I was running so late (like and hour and a half) that I didn't even bother tossing the saddle bags on. I saw several people there taking photos and was wondering if they would be posted on here in the gallery section.
If not, would someone mind sending some my way so I can explain to her what we did and show here some of the people I got to share the experience with?

| It was truely an honour and pleasure to ride with PGR today. Wish it was under better reasons, but, I guess that is why we are here. I know that the news crew was there today, I heard rumor that they would have the news clip on line.... anyone that got a business card that has the web address so I can view that link would appriciate it! Don't think San Antonio will air Austin news.... |

Folks, thank all of you who attended. My plans up to 1630 yesterday were to be with you. I had an echo cardiogram done Tuesday and the hospital called late yesterday afternoon and said I needed to come in this morning at 0930. I showed up at 0900 and was finally seen at 0945 - not too bad for the VA. Long story short - Dr told me the same thing I had already been told last month. I asked him if he had read the file and he assured me he had. So I left him a little miffed. Went down to records and asked for a copy of my files - something I do about every six months. I read the file, went back up to the doctor, showed him the place where I had been counseled last month and then told him how happy I was that he was too lazy to read the file. I had wanted to attend this funeral as if half the people that said they were coming showed; it would have been really good for my old decrepit heart.
RIP my sister - I will see you soon enough... |

today was an awesome day to be an American. There was a huge showing of patriots to show their respect to the fallen soldier. I have to say, when the people came out of the church and saw all those bikers standing in organized rows displaying silent honor, most with American flags unfurled and flying proudly it was a welcomed and tearful sight all in the same. I have never been prouder to show my respect and stand with these people. It was a truly moving experience, although I would hope the opportunity to serve never arises again, sadly, we all know it will and I won't miss the chance to show my respect again. The family and friends were truly grateful for our presence and they let us know, even made arraingements at last minute to feed all 100+ of us. I cant wait for the photos to get posted up at www.patriotguard.org, channel 8 news from austin was there as well as a local Fox affiliate also. It was my honor to be there for PFC Tina Priest, as she was there for all of us back home. |

I was honored to ride with so many damned fine Americans today. I wasn't quite prepared for the impact that the entire day had on me --- I'm thankful I participated though, as it was abundantly apparent from the family, community, and the military's response that we had a huge impact on them too.
The looks on the faces of the people coming out of the church was humbling. I think many of them were overwelmed by our showing.
On the procession ride to the cemetery, I nearly lost it when we rode past the high school --- to see that group of students and teachers standing outside, with the flags flown at half mast and their hands over their hearts, as the body of their recently graduated classmate moved past them --- that was very touching.
I was impressed by General Campbell, too. I was honored and a bit humbled that he took the time to come over and shake each and every one of our hands and to thank each of us personally. And then to have PFC Priest's twin sister, Danielle, come over after the funeral to express her tearful thanks.
Whew. I am emotionally drained. And tremendously proud. Thank you to all involved today.
P.S. --- Mscrybaby, could you forward me those pics as well? scoop@austin.rr.com
Regards,
Rooster |

Texas Roadstar if you tell me how to post them up for all to see I will do it.
I can't get the news from News 8 Austin because that is a channel exclusive to TimeWarner Cable customers only. |

Ladies and Gentlemen, I want to say that today was one of the most significant events in my life!! Bar none!! The men and women I met today are some of the best in the world. I told my great friend Ice, who rode as well, that it would be an honor to ride with any and all of you again and a welcome time when we can all ride together again for a different reason. I was never more proud of my 23 years in the AF than I was today. As long as our brave men and women continue giving the ultimate sacrifice, I will continue to support them and ensure the families of these warriors do not have to put up with the anti-American B***S**t of a few worthless rabble rousers. Thank you all for giving me the honor of meeting you and riding with you and when the next mission arises (and sadly we know it will) I will be there again, come rain or shine. Thank you for allowing me to be in this truly wonderful organization. God speed and be safe everyone.
Pfc. Tina Priest, you're with the one and only Commanding Officer and although you will be missed terribly by your friends and family, you are truly in a better place. Pfc. Priest, we rode for you!! Thank you. |

Anyone with pictures they'd like to have posted to the PGR website can forward them to web@patriotguard.org. Obviously they won't be able to post ALL of them as I think we had a ratio of 1:2 on cameras vs. riders today. They'll go through what's sent and post as many as possible. Just be sure to put the Mission in the subject line: Pfc Tina Priest - Smithville Texas - 3/9/06
