Honestly, I can donate money, time, etc, but it won't bring him back. He's on the top of the Angel's list and that's where we should alll pray to belong someday. I'm so sorry for your loss, I just don't know what to say. Thank you for listing.

Toll info for the Dixon rally point for Saturday morning at Illinois Rt 26 and I88. IPASS is accepted each way.

From Chicago it is $2.00 in change ONLY to get off and back on headed west, no attendent. IPASS is half of that if you have one.

The BP truck stop can be seen from the stop sign at the end of the off ramp, across the road and a little North.

Mike 3531 - see you in Marengo.

Big Rock - We will try to keep a watch for you, but since you say there is a chance you might not make it, we won't plan a stop. At this point is looks like you should be watching for three - me, Big Joe and Mike.

Again - anyone else in the area or along the route that want to join, please let us know to be watching for you.

If I can make it, I will be there at 0530 waiting for you. I will be along side the road ready to take off. The speed limit is 45 in that area, they watch it pretty good, lol. I dont think you can get there before 0530 from Marengo, can you?

So I cant miss you.
btw, I have been informed by my wife I will be there! rofl.

Big Rock - Pretty sure the earliest would be 5:45, unless Big Joe kicks in warp 2. 5:30 is plenty safe, we'll be watching for you. My Ultra has the typical HD headlight and passing lamps, plus 2 additional drving lights low on the forks at the axle - should be fairly distinguishable...

Greg, It was a good picture, and I'm glad he put the website in the story. I hope more people will read it and join up. As far as looking tougher. Stay as you are. We might need a good clean cut looking lawyer some day. Will be at the truck stop Saturday morning for the ride over. My wife Lori will be making her first trip. See you there.

Please, some stupid questions from a newbie who just singed up. What is dress code for standing post on the flag line? (as in casual dress, suit, VFW uniform if have one, etc.)

When you refer to cages, I presume your talking about "lead Sleds" or cars to some?
I will attempt to aquire proper Flag/Pole by tomorow for P.O. 1st Tharp's services.

Not stupid questions.  Actually they are common questions.  Dress code is very flexible.  Most guys wear boots, jeans, t-shirt and vest.  Vest is not required.  Headgear depends on personal tastes.  Bald heads, baseball hats, dew rags all are common.  I saw one PGR wearing a badger pelt hat in Wisconsin during a snow storm.  So long as you are there with respect it really does not matter.  There are guidelines posted somewhere on the PGR website.

Cages are those 4 wheeled vehicles that annoy the bikers from time to time.  Max, Ride Captain for the Tharp mission, has at least 100 flags on poles if you are not able to put one together by tomorrow.  He always has plenty of extras.  Look for the green minivan.  Impossible to miss him.

As an OFM you may want to consider joining us early in the morning in Bushnell for a flag line for a WWII Marine.  Just a thought.  Welcome to the PGR.  We need more Marines.

21 Jul 2006 5:16 PM Alert

I will be riding with a group of Legionaires from Marion, Iowa... I intend to stop along the way and pick up my Mother, who is an avid supporter of the Military, as both myself and my brother are in the service, my brother currently serving in IRAQ.

I hope the contingent from Marion, meeting at the local Walmart across town, will be willing to accompany me while I stop to pick up my mother.  She loves to ride, and was once the widow of a former Marine.

My mother told me that the news media has heavily covered this event, and that during the initial procession the streets were lined with well-wishers and respect-payers...

I am honored to be taking part of this event as my second mission.
