16 May 2006 9:49 AM Alert

ITINERARY AND MISC INFORMATION UPDATE:

The Rally Point time has changed.  We must be in place at the funeral home no later than 8:45 am.  Therefore, I will arrive at the Rally Point at 7 am, Pre-Brief the Ride at 8:10 am with kickstands up at 8:25 am.  This is south of the Pekin bridge (Rt 9).  We are arranging for 1 or 2 riders to be present in the general area to guide riders into the park.

Parking at the cemetery will be in the grass, so please bring your kickstand placards to prevent bike sag in the field.

Anyone with a disability, that prevents them from walking any distance, please notify me when they arrive at the Rally Point.  We have special parking arranged for you.

Ensure you bring water to stay hydrated.

Itinerary Update - Spc. Ronald W. Gebur,  Delavan, IL  23 May 2006

The Patriot Guard Riders will ride in honor of United State Army Specialist Ronald W. Gebur, 29 of Delavan, IL on Tuesday, 23 May 2006.  Pekin, IL is located just south of Peoria, IL.  I am attaching maps where applicable:

The Concorde Inn and Suites of Pekin has generously offered a special rate for all attending these services for Ronald.  Contact them at:

Visitation will be at the Woolsey Funeral Home on Monday, 22 May 06 from 4 pm to 7 pm.  Patriot Guard has been invited and if you attend, I recommend wearing something appropriate.

Service will be held at 10 am on Tuesday morning in Pekin, IL.

The Rally Point for this mission will be the Gene Miller Park which is located just north of the Pekin bridge:

CORRECTION TO RALLY POINT - Sorry team. The Rally Point is to the South of the bridge. NOT THE NORTH. Move my red dot to the south of the bridge.

I will be in place at 7:30 am for anyone wanting to come in early.  Our ride pre-brief will be held promptly at 8:45 am.  Bike and cars fueled (make sure….it is a long ride to the cemetery), kickstands up at 9 am for a brief ride to the funeral home.

After the services, at Woolsey, we will ride to the cemetery.    No special requests have been made by the family.  Just that we show up to support Ronald.  Bring your American flags and Patriot Guard Rider spirit and respect.

Forecasted Weather: Tuesday: More clouds than sun. Highs in the mid 70s and lows in the mid 50s.  I ask that everyone bring water along with them.  We do not want anyone suffering from dehydration.

Remember that we are guests of the Gebur family.

I spoke to the family and wife of Specialist Gebur.  They were happy to hear from the Patriot Guard and have invited us to honor Ronald.

In addition, when the mission details are released, the Concorde Inn & Suites, 2801 Court Street, Pekin, IL has authorized a "Special Rate" for Patriot Guard Riders showing up for this mission.  Special thanks to Joel Veach and his wife for arranging this.

I will keep you all posted as soon as details are available.

It is an honor for Joel and I to do whatever we can to help the families  of these fallen soldiers. We have a son in Iraq also. With the Grace of God we Pray we never have to experience, what they are going through. If we can do anything else please let us know. This our first official mission. And we feel so honored to be a part of this.
We recently attended the Memorial ride for L.C. Price in Woodlawn Il.
Again our hearts go out to the Gebur families and friends.
also anyone needing a room at the Concorde Inn and Suites make sure you let them know you are with the Patriot Guard or a family Member of Spc. Ronald W. Gebur.
