15 Jul 2008 4:57 AM Alert

The family of Viet Nam veteran, Richard "Dick" Wieme, 60, of Clay City, Kansas, formally of Balaton, Mn.,  has requested our presence at his funeral service in rural Balaton, Mn, with interment at Florence, Mn, on Wednesday, July 16, 2008.  His only child, Roman, has now lost both parents at an early age, and would appreciate our support. His family members also include Mn Patriot Guard Rider Brian Erickson of the Marshall Sector.

Staging information:

8:15 am - 8:45 am, at the Sillerud Lutheran Church, located on Highway 91, approximately seven miles south of Hwy 14. Highway 91 runs north/south  between the towns of  Balaton and Florence, Mn, in SW Minnesota.  From Hwy 30, turn north at Hadley, Mn, to arrive from the south (est. 10-12 miles).

Mission Briefing @ 8:45 am.

Flag line will be established for 9:00 am visitation preceeding the 10:00 am Funeral Service.

Escort to Cemetery:  The Patriot Guard Riders will lead the funeral procession approximately 11 miles to the Opdahl Cemetary, at Florence, Mn. Due to the distance and necessary speed on  state highways, no flags will be flown for the procession.  We hope to have LEO support for the procession.

Interment:  The flag line will be re-established at the cemetery for the interment ceremony, after which the PGR members will be dismissed.

Please be self-sufficient, and remember to bring your 3 x 5 flags.

Thanks for all you do,

Respectfully,

Alan Peterson

I suppose, in a way, this has become part of my soul. It is a symbol of my life. Whatever I have done that really matters, I've done wearing it. When the time comes, it will be in this that I journey forth. What greater honor could come to an American, and a soldier?

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Richard "Dick" Wieme, Navy, Viet Nam Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Richard.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
