24 Apr 2008 11:24 AM Alert

UPDATE on Riley Terrebonne mission, 26 April 08

Directions to funeral home -
From I-12, exit at Pumpkin Center / Baptist exit and go north till road ends (about 1/2 mile).  Turn right and go about another 1/2 mile to intersection with S. Baptist Rd.   Turn left on S. Baptist Rd. and go north to Hwy. 190.  Funeral home is on southeast corner of 190 and Baptist Rd. intersection.

From I-55, exit Hwy 190 and go WEST.  Funeral home is a couple of miles on the left at intersection (traffic light) with Baptist Rd.

Visitation begins at 0800 hrs. so those that can be there that early, look for Ted Zeringue (Zeeman) in a white Avalanche (truck) with the flags.  He'll arrive around 0830 hrs.  Bike parking - look for adjacent tree-shaded limestone covered parking lot.

I will arrive sometime around 1100-1130 if all goes well with earlier mission.  I will bring an ice chest with water but each of us needs to bring whatever we can.  Cindy (of Lafayette) will not be making this mission.  You might want rain gear with you as well.

Procession after service around 1330 hrs. - down 190 to LA 43 to LA 42 to Springfield where interment will be at Springfield Cemetery.

We have missions in Lafayette, Baton Rouge, and Hammond this date so I hope our brothers in Mississippi can attend so we have the turnout this hero truly deserves.  Ride safe.

Firefighter Riley Terrebonne, you will receive your last "Tone out", a sign for you to go in peace, as the rest of your brothers stand watch. My condolences to the family of Riley, may you find peace in the fact that he was a true hero to the end. As stated in many of the prior post, in the words of John 15:13 says "Greater Love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" this is who Riley is! You leap out of bed and leave your family and security to face the "beast" at the sound of a radio or pager, not knowing what you'll face! You stop along the highways to help others in all situations, whether you are on vacation or on your way home from a hard days work! You always have and always will....it's who we are and have been call to be!
From another Brother of the Call, rest easy Riley!

I will be there to render honors to you my Brother!
