07 Dec 2006 3:31 PM Alert
Hello central Pa.,

I have been in contact with the POC for the presentation and am awaiting more info. Has there been any info cascaded down from Waitaminit (Don) regarding this event? I was in contact with another PGR member, and was asked if I could coordinate the activities in support of the mission. Never been an "RC", but this should be straight up mission, flag line. As soon as I hear more, I'll post in this thread.

In the meantime, if anyone would be available to help Thursday, Dec. 14 at Indiantown Gap National Cemetary, please contact me or post here.

Of course, if I'm overstepping my authority as a member, please inform me of that also. Experience is the best teacher, don't want to step on toes.

Thanks.

Hope I don't step on any toes here either.  It's my understanding Kip Hamilton CaptainKip is heading up this location.

ShipAhoy,

Please confirm with Kip. I don't have a problem standing down.
I believe that is what he told me on the phone, Monday the 4th. Entirely possible I misunderstood, and I didn't ask today when I called him for Wreaths POC in that area. I have sent Peggy an email offering our assistance, I plan on taking the day from work and being there anyway. I believe it's especially important this year, since the survivors of Pearl Harbor are no longer going to meet after this year. Truly those Americans were the "Greatest Generation", without whose love of freedom and country, and sacrifice for her ideals and beliefs, we would not be able to gather, strangers all,
to show

"Honor and Respect."

I sent Kip an email.  We should know something definate soon.  Sorry for any confusion, I'm still new at this.

I know any email sent to Peggy needs Wreaths Across America in the subject line or she deletes it as spam from people not in her address book.

I did include mention of that in the subject line, I have not heard anything yet. She may have replied to my home email, which I can't access from work.

I had a phone call 10 minutes ago from Peggy, I apparently had a letter wrong on her email, so she never received my inquiry. She is having a hard time with support there, keeps getting shuffled around from person to person. She is sure that Kip said he would not be available, that's how I got in the mix. However, I will continue to stand by until Kip confirms.
I am sending Peggy new message this evening from home, she in turn is sending me what intel she has so far, as least we'll
have an idea. What she wants from us if possible would be a flag corridor for the presenters to walk through, we only spoke a few mins., both on work phones.
Standing by, trying to help.

Thanks for the update, Dave. If I can be of assistance to CaptainKip or the event, gladly do what I can.

I did receive email from Peggy with the general program outline, bare bones, no participants/speakers listed.

FYI- As far as what I had discussed with Peggy prior to logging in today, I had suggested the post here, (now short notice?) with possibly Funck's as rally point (after securing their permission), I thought 10.30, time for coffee and stretch,
move to cemetery 11.15, coordinate, set line.

Standing by,
Plan to be having breakfast at Funcks 10-1015.

Dave,
I will contact Peggy and /or Kip again. I'm not sure what type of program they are trying to set up. I haven't seen any response from other PGR, Kip asked me to be a alternative contact for us, I can only hope that Peggy gets cooperation from her community. Unfortunately, I live about 100 miles east of the cemetary, so I can't really assist in the lead-up planning in the area. I'll send email to Kip, see if I can find out what he's been able to accomplish. Mainly I think I
will start new post for rally point as soon as I call Funcks restaurant and get permission to stage there, they are located about 300 yds. from the entrance to the grounds. Will continue to monitor thread.

Les,

Please check your email.  The last one I you sent had contacts for other PGR members who want to help on this mission.  I hope you can all get together to make this mission a success.  Thanks again for stepping up.  Please email me when you get a chance.

I have been following this thread all day. From what I gather. you intend to stage @ Funks' 10:30 am on Thurs. I am leaving home (Massachusetts) Wed. am to be there for the wreath laying. It would be quite a honor for me, as I did take part in the escort Monday. Salisbury, to Attleboro, Mass. Also my daughter has a marker there; Lesley Anne Mundy,HS3. U.S.C.G. I hope to be on 2 wheels, depending on the rain that just to the west. Looking forward to meeting fellow PGRs C U @ Funks Thurs. Stan Cederberg

Welcome Stan,

My condolences, and thanks for Lesley's service.

Please have a safe trip. For all, I have email into Peggy, local poc. Here's what I told her;
Anticipating 4-6 PGR at this time.
0945, I arrive at rally point. I'm going to grab a bite.
1015-1030 I'm going to go to cemetary for update and recon.
1100-briefing at restauarant.
1115-1120-move to location, standby.
1150-take position. Presentation is scheduled for 1200
Of course this is all flexible, depending on requirements. I'm caging, silver Malibu, PGR rear, USA Veterans front.
I have been forwarded emails Dave (ShipAhoy) received from other members expressing interest.
If I hear anything from anyone about mission, I will post. I can access PGR at work, but not commercial webmail.
My work email is leslie.sharp@tobyhanna.army.mil
See you Thursday.

What I received is just as follows:

1200- Ceremony starts.
Presentation of colors
Opening remarks
Wreath laying
Closing remarks
Closing.

Peg's thought was to have wreath layers walk beneath flags held by PGR, depending on # of bodies, we can do straight line or gauntlet style. She's called meeting time for 1130-1145, small parking lot next to admin. building.

If you wish to adjust your times according, feel free. I am adjusting my times slightly later, probably later by 30 min.
I will still attempt to get more info prior to everyone's arrival. Let's move staging area to small parking lot NLT 1130 hrs.

Funck's is good breakfast, I'll see you there.

Thanks to all.

Les
