MISSION COMPLETE: 30 bikes, 3 trikes and 2 pickup trucks were the vehicles involved in this funeral service. RC Tim "Grumpy" Mistric took a contingent to Greenbrier to escort the family to the funeral home in Conway. We were joined by members of the Arkansas Star-riders group of which "Rick" was also a member. Another group met at the funeral home to set up flags and form a flag line to receive the escort and family. It was a beautiful sight (and sound) to see and hear the bikes roll in. The family was very moved and appreciates each of you, as do I. Thank you for all you do.

I would like to thank everyone who participated in Dad's final ride during the escort to his services on the 16th of September.

I too am a member of the PGR but have changed my screen name to honor my dad.  His callsign as a pilot during his tour in Viet Nam was "BLUE MAX 22". I also served in the military as an Army Aviator. I just returned home to South Carolina from Arkansas and this is my first opportunity to post my most sincere and heartfelt appreciation to all riders and the PGR organization.

I was afforded the opportunity to ride my father's Ultra Classic in trail of the formation while my sister sat behind me for the event.  While en route my sister commented how beautiful the day was and how touched she was to be a part of the ride.  I turned to respond as tears ran down my check from beneath my sunglasses.  She placed her hands on my shoulders and began to cry as well.  She said while sobbing, "You better not crash dad's bike because you can't see through the tears!"  I smiled, and gave a half hearted chuckle to her and responded with a lie, "I'll be fine!"

I have participated in several rides as a PGR member but will now experience each ride with a different emotion attached.  I believe I will now shed a tear in all future Patriot Rides in his memory.

With great admiration to you all where ever you ride and a proud but humble salute,
Scott A. Rickenbacker (son)

Brother Rick,

Thank you for your service to the PGR and for standing for those who fell on the battlefield. We also thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your untimely death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect.
