UPDATED MISSION INFORMATION AS OF THURSDAY AFTERNOON
This will be a two part mission. 1LT. Brian Brennan will be arriving at Newark Airport on Friday evening at 1745 (5:45PM). This mission will be split into two separate parts. The first part will be the actual escort of LT. Brennan from Newark Airport to his waiting family and friends in Howell, NJ. This will be called the Newark Portion of the mission. The second portion of the mission will be a flag line set up in Howell, to be in place when the escort from Newark Airport arrives in Howell. This will be the Howell Portion of the mission.
****************NEWARK PORTION OF THE MISSION**************
We will be staging at the Marriott Hotel on the airport property. The Port Authority Police will escort us from the Hotel to the terminal where LT Brennan will be landing. After retrieving LT. Brennan from the airport, we will be escorted by the New Jersey State Police down to Howell Township. The State Police will be with us for the entire escort down to Howell. RIDE ITINERARY FOR THE NEWARK MISSION
Riders from the North should report directly to Newark Airport and we will stage there. Plan to be there around 1700 (5:00PM). Riders from the south will stage according to the ride itinerary posted by RC Paul McNaughton, who will be the lead ride captain for the ride up to Newark Airport from the south. Paul will be posting his ride itinerary and staging information later today. Any riders from the south wanting to go to Newark should proceed according to Paul's itinerary. RIDE ITINERARY FOR THE HOWELL PORTION OF THE MISSION
Riders who wish to go directly to Howell for the flag line to welcome LT. Brennan to his final destination will be under the direction of Senior Ride Captain Rich Baumann (RoadKingRich). Rich will be the lead Ride Captain for this portion of the mission and will be posting his ride itinerary and staging information later today. Any riders who want to do the Howell portion of the mission should proceed according to Rich's Itinerary.
This mission is late to be posted because there have been many changes and updates over the past 48 hours. I apologize for the lateness of this information, but most of the mission was put together this afternoon, following many discussions between the family, the organizers, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New Jersey State Police, Howell Police and Fire, and Monmouth County authorities. All that being said, remember that this soldier has been horribly injured, and this will be his first trip back home since being injured. After a week or so at home, he will proceed to Walter Reade for further intensive therapy on his injuries. We, the Patriot Guard Riders will do everything we can to bring him home as the hero he is. Thank you in advance for your support of this mission, and thank you for the part you are playing in welcoming this soldier home to his friends and family. I anticipate we will be joined on this ride by the HOG riders of the Long Branch HOG chapter, as well as the Blue Knights from Chapter NJXV. Thank you for your support of LT. Brennan also.

WELCOME HOME MISSION 1LT. BRIAN BRENNAN, US ARMY ATLANTIC CITY AIRPORT TO HOWELL, NJ 19 SEP 08
1LT. Brian Brennan of Howell, NJ is due to come home from Florida before being returned to Walter Reed Medical Center for more extensive rehab. LT. Brennan has been in Florida for injuries sustained while serving in the sand box.
He received injuries including acute brain trauma, loss of both legs, fractured shoulder blade and pelvis, collapsed lung, ruptured spleen, multiple fractures of his left arm and a shattered femur. This warrior is over a month ahead of schedule in his rehab and his doctors would like to get him a week or so at home before receiving intensive rehabilitation at Walter Reed.
I have agreed to help bring this hero home to his waiting family and friends. He is scheduled to arrive on Friday, 19 Sep 08, at a time to be provided. This mission will consist of an escort from the airport when he lands, which at the moment is the Atlantic City Airport, to his hometown of Howell, NJ.
I will be meeting with the family and the organizers of his welcome home celebration on Saturday in Howell. I will provide more details after I meet with the welcome home team. Staging information and ride itineraries will be provided early next week as plans become more final.
