The PGR supported this event last year and have been asked to help out again. It is especially important because of the dedication of SGT. Shawn Hill.

The presence of the PGR at the American Warrior Triathlon (http://www.americanwarriortriathlon.com) on September 20 and an invitationto the dinner on the 19Sep08 has been requested.

On the 19th Special Forces guys from all over the world, including an SF guest speaker at the dinner that almost gave his life in Afghanistan . He’ll be talking about what’s really going on, on the ground. There will be a silent auction that is sure to have some unusual stuff…

On the 20th they would like to have one bike be our “Pace Car” for the bicycle part of the race (flying an American Flag) The rest of the PGR would escort the last bike. We will be adding SGT Shawn Hill’s name to the memorial and will have an appropriate dedication ceremony including his family. The PGR will set up a flag line for this part of the ceremony. From the role the PGR played in his funeral service, his family will appreciate our presence as well.

The Black Daggers, the Special Operations Parachute Demo Team will be jumping into the Lake Cooley landing area to begin the race… it should be something to see! http://news.soc.mil/blkdgrslg/daggerhome.htm

I am sorry that I cannot make this one as I will be riding to Americus Ga with Rolling Thunder as we have 28 POW's that have returned home. We are having a get together for them. Give my regards to Mrs. Hill as I was at his funeral. Thank you. Joe Frasson

Thanks to all who participated this weekend. Again the giving of your time was very much appreciated by many and the Servicemen and Women that I spoke with this weekend said as much. Dennis did a fine job putting on this event for the Troops and for the dedication for Sgt Shawn Hill on the Memorial in downtown Lyman S.C.

Fri. night Keith,Cathy.Lori,Tony, and myself went to the dinner where they had a silent auction and a few speakers. Lori helped with the spaghetti and she truly is a Soldiers Angel. We watched as the Black Daggers jumped into the stadium of the Byrnes Rebels where they delivered the game ball.I heard he came through the goal posts to make the delivery.

Sat. morning came early for the staging, nobody knows better than Wayne who came over from Columbia to join us. We were joined by Chief Suttles who took us to the intersections where we helped to direct the riders on the second stage of the event. This was something the planners were worried about and you guy’s came through in spades. You provided not only direction but also safety at these intersections.

After the Run, the final leg of the triathalon we gathered in the Square for the Colors, 21 Gun Salute, Prayer, and Monument dedication for Sgt Hill Where we made a semi circle around the backside of the the Monument. We put our flags away and gave our salute as we left and headed to Greenville for another event for the Troops.

Thanks to all who came out early this morning and helped. Thanks to Missy and Mama Jan for bringing the flags from Whitmire via Ware Place. Keith and Ron for leading the bikes and showing the way. All of you who stood your post and guided the rest in the right direction. Most of all Thanks to the Wounded Warriors who this day was really about. Also the Wounded Warrior Foundation and Soldiers Angels for all you do.

   Godspeed
