Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of PVT. Vincent C. Winston Jr. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Vincent.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

I send my heartfelt condolences to the family of Pvt Vincent C. Winston, Jr. Please know your loved one is a hero in the hearts of true patriots all across America. Many of our citizens will never know the sacrifices made by those who defend our freedoms, or the sacrifices made by their families and loved ones…as a veteran, I know. Jesus said, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends”. Though I did not know Vincent personally, his sacrifice and service to the United States of America makes him my “friend”. God be with you.

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.

Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.

Any service related death, on or off duty, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.

I offer you my services, such as they are. If you want to talk, feel free to get in touch with me thru the PGR messaging. I WILL return your call/message. ANYTIME!

In the meantime know that my wife's and my prayers are with you.

Sixty some Patriot Guard Riders attended services for PVT Vincent Winston today.  Normally I write about the mission but this time I'm going to write a little about PVT Winston.

PVT Winston, Vincent, was a young man who had all the reasons to make all the wrong decisions.  But he didn't.  Vincent has a cousin who has been in the Army since Vincent was a boy and Vincent wanted to be just like his cousin.  So when the time came, Vincent joined the Army to serve his country and defend her freedoms.  PVT Vincent Winston lost his life to an IED last Thursday in Afghanistan, doing what he wanted to do.  Protecting us and his fellow soldiers.  For all the right reasons.

Thank you PVT Vincent Winston and thanks to all of you who helped make this mission a success.
