Visitation is 6:00pm to 8:00pm on Friday , 19 Sept., 08. There will be no  PGR flag line at the visitation, but you are welcome to pay your respects to Captain Wander and his family. This will be at:

Staging will be on Lincoln St, 1/2 block from the church. We will park on the street in front of the small park.
 
Stage: 8:00am
Brief: 8:30am
Flag Line: 8:45am

Captain Wander and his family are scheduled to arrive at the church shortly before 9:00am. 

After the services, we will escort Captain Wander to the Suttons Bay Township Cemetery.

Please bring your 3' X 5' American flag and join us as we stand in silent respect for this hero.

The Patriot Guard has been asked to establish a flag line at the Memorial for Navy Captain Keith Wander.  Keith was killed while riding back from the coast on his motorcycle.  The Memorial Service will be held at 7pm (1900) on Tuesday Sep 9, at the Generation Four Square Church, 145 Martinvale Ln, San Jose, Ca.

Additional information:

As many of you know, Keith contributed his time and resources to numerous charitable organizations.  Many that have worked closely with Keith asked if they might make a contribution in his name.  We have chosen three organizations:

1)     Operation: Care and Comfort - A volunteer program, which provides support and comfort to "adopted" units of deployed U.S. military service members, serving in Iraq, Afghanistan, and conflict regions.  The organization assembles and ships care packages to over 200 units every month. 

2)     Keith Wander Memorial Youth Scholarship Fund
(Church on the Rock) – Keith donated his time and resources to ensure that children could attend various church functions such as summer and winter camps.  This fund will help to continue to provide children with these opportunities.

3)     CROSS Motorcycle Group – The intersection of Keith's religious beliefs, favorite pass time, and commitment to charity.  CROSS is involved with many charitable activities such as sponsoring families during the holidays.

We will be collecting donations and making equal contributions to these organizations.  If you would like, you can send your contribution to:

I was shocked as I had only talked with him two days before on some planning for an event. He was a Brother-In-Arms (Navy at that!), A Brother in the Patriot Guard, A Brother in Christ, A Brother as a Patriot, but most importantly he was my friend!!!
It pains me deeply to have to do this mission, but I must! I will be there to RC, and keep the memory of my great friend for as long as I shall live. My sincere condolences to Janet, Greg, and all the members of Cross. Even though I am sure that Keith was called to a greater mission, It still is a significant loss. Thanks for all the help of Pastor Arnold, Pastor Fred, Anthony and Donna. I look forward to seeing you all, and giving honor to my friend.

Michigan Phase One Ride Report. The airport escort from Grand Rapids to Sutton Bay was broken into 2 groups due to the length of the escort. We did not have LEO present, so for safety reasons, the escort was limited as to the number of riders participating. We had 6 riders who escorted Captain Wander and his mother from the airport to Cadillac. There we switched riders and 7 others finished the escort from Cadillac to Suttons Bay.

We were very honored to be able to meet Captain Wander's mother, Janet. She is a very gracious lady who thanked us profusely for being there. Thank-you, Janet, for inviting us to share in this honor.
Thank-you to MarineMike for the great job of co-ordinating everything at the airport.
Thank-you to ALL the riders who helped us honor Captain Wander today.
Thank-you to Nick Martinson of the Martinson Funeral Home for the co-operation and support of putting this escort together.

Captain Keith Wander has made his final journey home.
