Sgt Omar Lopez, THANK YOU for your service to this country, in preserving our freedoms that we sadly sometimes take for granted. We have lost another hero..sadly. No words can really help at a time like this for the family and his friends, but there is a poem at the end of my message that might give you a little comfort, I hope so.

I Did Not Die

Do not stand at my grave and forever weep.
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight on ripened grain.
I am the gentle autumn’s rain.
When you awaken in the morning’s hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and forever cry.
I am not there. I did not die.

The Head of the California Honor Guard has asked the PGR preform a special Honor. The Services will take place in a Catholic Church. Catholic tradition requires that a Paul be place on the Casket while it is in the Church.
This will require that the Flag be removed, Folded, kept in Honor, and then replaced prior to leaving the Church.

I need Four (4) PGR members to volunteer to preform this honor. The requirements are simply, just know how to Fold and handle the US Flag.
You will need to arrive one hour early to be in place as Sgt Lopez arrives.
Call me 909 208 7703 if you want to preform this honor.

Mission completed: Notes For my first time as R/C I was very lucky to have John and Doyle as mentors in showing me the ropes. Allot going on today and John stepped up to help me where I was lacking experience. All in all things went as smooth as possible with some changes here and there but adapting as it came at us. I also want to thank the all the PGRiders that attended. I couldn’t have picked a better crew to be with for my first time out. We had a flag line for the family entering the church, a flag line for the family and the fallen soldier leaving the church to the hearse and a flag line at the cemetery. John called orders both at the church and cemetery. Dog tags and the white bag were given to the immediate family and they wore the tags with pride. A flag had to be borrowed from the SGT in charge which wasn’t the correct size and I talked with the people from the mortuary to get the right flag. The borrowed flag was removed and folded and the correct flag was draped over the coffin outside the door of the church. Doyle suggested that since the borrowed flag had also draped the coffin that is should be given to the family too, something I wouldn’t have thought of. I just wanted to make sure that when the honor guards at the cemetery folded the flag it would be the right size and fold normally. There were 35 motorcycles with 39 to 40 riders approximately. I’m guessing between 25 to 35 autos in the procession, sometimes spreading out quite away. There were 5 traffic officers and several PGR traffic personnel who helped the officers maintain the traffic and keeping non-procession vehicles out. Jimmy had corralled several cages that wandered from the group and made it in time for the service at the cemetery. (Thanks Jimmy) A group photo was taken at the church of the PGRiders and will try to post it if I can. As far as tags, I don’t believe there were many left but will leave that up to John for an exact figure. There were 4 first timers with us today and 6 blue star parents attending. One more thing worth mentioning is that we were waiting for the hearse to bring the casket this morning but later found out that it was already at the church from the previous night visitation with NO FLAG draping the departed soldier. They also didn’t remove the flag and cover with the pall in the church. The Padre said the flag on the coffin was also appropriate. What a guy… Once again, Thanks to my mentors and the entire PGR crew. Well Done ! ! !
