'Lord, hold our troops in your loving hands. Protect them as they protect us. Bless them and their families for the selfless acts they perform for us in our time of need. Amen.'
GOD SPEED, we anxiously await your safe return from harms way.

For such a SHORT NOTICE Send-Off mission the members of the PGR did it again and had a very good turnout seven members should up bright and early to stand during the Send-Off Ceremony and to give an escort for these Heroes preparing to head into harms way. A special thanks to the Bradford County Sheriff and his officers for putting together a LEO escort from County line to County line with a less then two hour notice.
During the Ceremony General Fleming, Keystone Heights Mayor Mary Lou Hildreth (her and her husband ride), a rep from Senator Nelson's Office, the Commander for the 927th (Welcome Home mission 19 Ap 08) along with Senior Leaders and Distinguished Guests addressed these Heroes their families and supporters assembled. During the Ceremony is was pointed out the level of training these citizen soldiers have been through and will continue to go through as they prepare to render aid and save the lives of our Country's Heroes. As a side note General Fleming recognized our presence and our Mission and Support along with how much we are appreciated for what we do. The Command Major also addressed his troops along with thanking us from one Iron Horse Rider to another.
The Command Major was presented with a State of Florida flag for the 256th to fly while they are in the sandbox, they were then released to spend time with their families for the next hour. During that time we mingled with them and they with us. One Guardsman joined us as we were standing around the bikes introducing himself, he is a Patriot Guard Rider as well as a Citizen Soldier. During this time a member of the Florida National Guard came by and presented all the Patriot Guard Riders present with a National Guard Florida camo baseball cap.
As the departure time drew near, you could see the tears coming more frequently on the families faces. All too soon the 256th was ordered to fall in for Roll Call then ordered to mount up. Just before the last Hero had mounted up our Riders fired up their bikes so they could hear the rumble. We a base police escort we rolled through the base passing the Headquearters building with fellow Soldiers out front to salute their Comrades as they rolled past.
As we departed the base the PGR led the escort through part of Clay County until we were picked up by the Bradford County Sheriff's Deputies. They led us into Starke, FL through town and past the County Courthouse. About 20 people were out front with a Ceremonial American flag to Send these Heroes off in fine fashion. With our LEO escort leading the way we headed out of Starke and on through Lawty to the County line. With sirens wailing the LEO escort pulled over and the PGR continued to lead on. At an agreed upon breakpoint we pulled over honking and waving as they passed us by. Looking up as the busses passed by all the Soldiers were looking out the windows waving back.
Once in position the Command Major has all my contact information so we can keep in contact with them as they do great things and save lives. As time goes by, there is more to follow with our Supporting the 256th ACMS as they Stand for US.
Part I complete, Mission not completed until we Welcome them all Home.
