Final Inspection

The soldier stood and faced God,
Which must always come to pass.
He hoped his shoes were shining.

My condolences go out to the family and friends Sgt. (ret) Richard Knapp, USAF, Vietnam Veteran, Millsboro, DE, Richard has paid his dues for his Country and our Freedom. Rest in Peace my brother. May you finally lay down in green pastures.

Ride Report: 22 members were present standing the Flag line For SGT (Ret) Richard Knapp, We had 17 Iron Horses, 1 Iron Pony and Two cages. The weather was nice which brought Members from Delaware, Maryland, PA, and NJ. The USAF Color Guard Did a super Job. It was an Honor to stand For Sgt Richard Knapp. Rest in peace and God Bless you, Thank you Sir for your Service, and Welcome Home.

My name is Harold Knapp and I am Richard's nephew. I have just retired on Sep 1 2008 from 23 years in the USAF, unfortunately to the death of my retired uncle who was a driving force in my service career. I want to personally thank all of the riders who showed up today at my Uncle's funeral for showiing respect and supporting our veterans. This was the first time I have seen the riders due to my extensive overseas tours, but I was floored and it brought immediate tears to my families eyes. YOU ARE A TRIBUTE TO THIS COUNTRY AND OUR HEROS. I have signed up and will make my best to ride with the chapters when I can. My mother acutally told me to sign up for this great cause.

My deepest appreciation to all of you.

Thank you for your willingness to defend the United States of America and her freedoms and interests. Your death brings much sorrow and sadness to the hearts and lives of your family, friends, military brothers and sisters, each and every member of the Patriot Guard Riders, and all who truly appreciate their freedom. We are proud of your service and dedication in that which you believed in and fought for. Your mission is complete. You are truly an American hero and the world in which we live is a safer place because of your commitment to freedom. We will now proudly stand for you with honor, dignity, and respect. We pray that you will now rest peacefully in the arms of God. May He provide peace, comfort, and understanding to each life you touched.
