STAND DOWN FROM THIS MISSION ON SATURDAY, 06 SEP 08

Effective immediately, we are standing down from this mission. I have spoken to DJ's Mom and relayed this information to her. This action is caused by the KIA mission we are being asked to perform at the same time in Spotswood, NJ. As we all know, KIA missions take precendence over all others. I have asked our friends in Region 6 in Pennsylvania if they were available to stand in for us, but at this time I have not heard from the Region 6 leadership. All of our efforts on Saturday morning will be directed to Spotswood.

HELP  ON THE HOME FRONT

SPC. DAVID J. BENTZ, III, US ARMY

CLAYTON, NJ  06 SEP 08

On June 20, 2007, David J. Bentz, III, made a decision, while in combat, that saved the lives of the soldiers around him while costing him his own life. The Patriot Guard Riders were invited by the family to provide our services during the final celebration of DJ's life and service to his country. For his actions, DJ was awarded the Purple Heart posthumously. On Saturday, 06 Sep 08, the soccer field in the town of Clayton, NJ will be dedicated in DJ's honor. The family has again asked the Patriot Guard Riders to attend the services to help honor the service of DJ Bentz, III. I have agreed to help this family celebrate DJ's service again.

This mission will consist of an honorary flag line at the soccer field as the field is dedicated in DJ's honor. We will stage at a local staging area and ride into the soccer field for the dedication. The final staging area and ride itineraries will be posted as they become available. The dedication is scheduled for 1100 on Saturday, 06 Sep 09.

Once again I take the opportunity to thank Spc. DJ Bentz, III for his service and sacrifice. May he always be remembered as the American Hero he is.

Regrettably, we will be unable to attend the dedication, but wish all a safe ride.

I am putting this dedication together as I speak. Just got off the phone with DJ's Step-Mother, Kim Geonnotti, and they are proceeeding with the plans. I will be talking to LEO tomorrow AM and hopefully will have a staging area set and an initial itinerary for the event at that time. The weather for Saturday at this time is iffy, to say the least, so stay tuned. We may have to do some last minute changing of the plans if the weather turns out to be not too good. Thank you to all of our riders who I know will turn out for the DJ Bentz one more time.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of SPC. David J. Bentz, III. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with you always. He will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, David.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
