Updated 12 Sept 08 2041 edt S Sturgis

This is the final itinerary for the send off for Major Kevin Wolfla.

This will be a short escort mission only.  We will not have a flag line,
although large mounted flags are encouraged for the escort.

Ride Captain:  Mark Krause (mtkrause@comcast.net).  Cell number:
410-302-3700

Rally Point:  Southwest Park & Ride, located at Rolling Road and I-195
in Catonsville.

Directions:

From the Baltimore Beltway (I-695 south toward Glen Burnie) take Exit 12
(Rt.372-Wilkens Ave). Turn left onto Wilkens Ave. and proceed west. Turn
left onto Rolling Rd. Proceed south to the Park & Ride lot on the left.

From I-95, take the exit for I-195 toward Catonsville/Route 166 (Rolling
Road).  Follow the signs straight ahead to the Park & Ride.

Rally Time: Start 3:15 p.m. KSU and ready to roll at 3:40 p.m. sharp.

This escort is a surprise for Major Wolfla.  He has no idea that we will
be escorting him to the airport.  He will be brought to the park & ride
by two fellow PGR members from Illinois who are friends of his, and we
will lead them from the park & ride to the airport which is about 2
miles down I-195.  Due to his flight departure time, we will not have a
flag line.

There are no amenities or facilities at the Rally point.  Please be
topped off and ready to roll on arrival at the Rally Point.

Altogether, this mission should last about an hour, so it is a perfect
opportunity to show our appreciation to the Major for his service,
without a huge time commitment.  Think about attending this mission on
your way home from work.

Thanks!

We have been invited to give a PGR Flag line send-off for Major Kevin
Wolfa, US Army deploying to the sandbox.  The Major will be leaving for
Fort Bragg from BWI Airport on 15 Sep 08.  We will meet him and his
family when they arrive at BWI to let them know we support them and
appreciate his answering the call!

Tentative RC will be Mark Krause (mtkrause@comcast.net).

As soon as the flight time is confirmed we will post final Ride
Captains, Rally points and times.  This will be a flag line detail at
the airport only.  Cage or bike and bring your 3x5 US Flag on pole.

Thanks for all you do!

My name is Mark and I am coming from Chicago for this send off. Kevin and I went to college together at the University of Miami (FL) Class of 91. I wanted to tell you a little bit about the soldier you will meet. Kevin came to the University of Miami on an ROTC scholorship. Kevin didn't enroll in ROTC to pay for school, he enrolled becuase he wated to serve. After graduation the Army was in draw down mode and he had to wait a year before he could become active then the Army tried to discharge him for medical reasons (he had a mild skin condition) so he had to fight to stay in. Kevin is married, his wife Robyn (LTC) also serves in the Army so please thank her for her service as well, has a son Frank (2 years old) and Kevin and Robyn are expecting a second child.

Please come out and show Kevin and family that we appreciate his service.

Dear Major Wolfa:
Bob and Mark are fellow N. Illinois PGR brothers whom I admire very much. I would like nothing more than to ride out with them to personally wish you well as you embark on your deployment. I can't put into words how much I appreciate that you are willing to defend the freedoms that I hold so dear. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers and I wish you a safe return. Good luck Major!

A Prayer for Our Soldiers' Families

Heavenly Father, we pray for the safe return home of our soldiers from Iraq and Afghanistan. We ask that you give our military commanders and political leaders wisdom and courage to fulfill their daunting responsibility. Lord, we implore you to please remember the families of these brave men and women. Bless the wives, parents, children and siblings of our fighting forces and give them solace and comfort. If it be your will, bring their loved ones home swiftly, sound in mind and body.

We pray these things in the name of the Son, the Father and the Holy Ghost,

Amen
