Rest In Peace Marine, Mission Accomplished. standing by

Usually at a time like this I struggle for words to comfort a friend who has suffered a loss. The right words don’t often come, but if accompanied by the right sentiment they can be soothing. But I have learned over time that the best comfort at a time like this comes from those who watch over us. My beliefs allow me to be comforted by a certainty that I am watched over by those who have gone before me.

**********************FINAL STAGING INFORMATION************************

This mission will be accomplished a bit differently than most of the ones we have done in the past. I have just returned from meeting with Ted's son at Don Bosco High School. Usually, we stage off-site and ride in together. Tomorrow, however, our final staging area for this mission only will be the Don Bosco Preparatory High School, 492 North Franklin Turnpike, Ramsey, NJ. All groups should plan on being there by 0900. There will be a pre-mission meeting at 0915 in the parking lot next to the chapel where the service is being held. Ride Captains should plan their ride itineraries so that they should arrive at Don Bosco no later than 0900. We will have our flag line set by 0930, immediately after the pre-mission meeting. Family and guests should begin arriving at 0945. Ride safely everyone. The weather report I have heard for tomorrow morning sounds like it should be okay for travel.

Long, long ago a Mother (Mary) asked, "Heavenly Father, why did my Child have to die on a cross outside Jerusalim?" All the answers are so near the same. One died to save our Souls and the others died to protect our Freedoms.

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Edwin "Ted" Lawlor, USMC, Viet Nam Veteran. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. He is one of America's Heroes that will NEVER be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Edwin.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.
