Updated 16 AUG 08 harly69g

The family of John Estrada has decided to keep this a private service.  This mission is now a "stand down."  All condolences, thoughts, and prayers have been appreciated.  Thank you.

There will be a funeral service for former Marine, John Estrada on Monday at 1:00 pm at Camp Williams.

“He was a wonderful man who has been very involved with the Marine Corps League and has been extremely supportive of the Gold Star Families.  He went to the golf course every morning to collect cans to get money to send supplies to Balboa Naval Hospital.  He was never too shy to ask someone for donations to support the wounded.”

–Amy Galvez, Utah Gold Star Mother

He died from a stroke on Monday.

The daughter would like a viewing in the chapel, but we don't yet know what arrangements are being made.  It may only be a graveside service.  At this time, we only have a possible mission for Monday.  As soon as we have more information and an invite confirmation, I will post a final itinerary.

John deserves to have a great send off, let’s do what we can to give him one.

Thank you for my freedom Mr Estrada. May you rest in peace. “Some people’s lives can truly make a difference however long or short their lives on earth. They give the gifts of kindness and of caring. They sow the seeds of friendship and self-worth. Some people’s lives are beautiful examples of putting others first, and when they are gone, the lives of those they touched are so much richer, and the love they shared lives on and on.”
