| I'll be there. Did I overlook where the staging area and time was named or is it McEwen @ 0800? If anybody in the Concord area wants to ride up with me like SGM or Knobby let me know and we'll make it happen. |

"War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things; the decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. A man who has nothing for which he is willing to fight; nothing he cares about more than his own personal safety; is a miserable creature who has no chance of being free, unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself"

FINAL MISSION REPORT
Today we had the honor of escorting an American Hero to his final resting place. It was done with a show of honor and respect by all in attendance. The family of CPL Dustin Blake Woods appreciated the presence of the Patriot Guard Riders and the staff from McEwen Funeral Home were most helpful and appreciative as well.
As it is with most missions, changes and adjustments were necessary through most of the day, but our faithful members quickly responded.
I counted 27 bikes and 4 cages. This on a weekday folks. I want to again extend my thanks to all who were able to be there and for the thoughts of all those who could not.
A special thanks to RC Keith Arbuckle for his assistance in getting our lead group to the cemetery and in position with a beautiful flag line. And to those caging that provided much needed water. It was good to see Spiffy, (Dennis Potts), our fearless Captial Region Captain.
A the close of the service we returned to our bikes & cages, and on the signal, we fired them up and respectfully rode away. We gathered a few miles down the road for a post mission meeting, broke bread, and shared conversation.
A sad day . . . yet one which showed that patriotism is alive and well in America.
Respects!

As I get ready to write to you, the words fall away as almost meaningless because of the pain I know you feel. I know, because I have felt that pain.
Know that you are NOT alone on this difficult path. Others are there to help you: reach out and embrace them, for they are offering not only themselves, but sharing with you that little bit of the Almighty that resides in all of us. This offering/sharing is what WILL give you the strength you will need to get thru. Trust me.
Any service related death, on or off duty, whether accident or illness, wounds received or KIA, warrant the Gold Star for the family. Don't let anyone tell you different.
I offer you my services, such as they are. If you want to talk, feel free to get in touch with me thru the PGR messaging. I WILL return your call/message. ANYTIME!
In the meantime know that my wife's and my prayers are with you.
