MEMORIAL RIDE for Army Spc. Robert D. Varga

 

The family of Fallen Hero Robby Varga  has requested the Patriot Guard to once again

come back to his home town  of Monroe City, Mo. to honor their son,  who died  on July 15, 2007 in Baghdad, Iraq. They have requested a short ride on the blacktop hills of the Mark Twain Lake Area near their home. Following the ride, his  family, his church and the community will have a bar-b-q in the Gold Star familys back yard. All PGR is invited to attend.

 

Date: Sunday July 13th, 2008

Location: Monroe City, Mo.

Stage at: The Monroe City High School Parking Lot

Address: Bus Hwy 24/36...Monroe City, Mo.

Time: 12:30pm

KSU at: 1pm We will ride to the home of Frank and Cecelia Varga, pick up the parents, as they have chosen to ride with us,  in their son's vehicle.

 

*We will return to their home at aprox 2pm for the afternoon cookout. The Parents asked me to post; "if you stood for their son, to please come back and share in a day of memories,  if you were unable to be here a year ago, please come now".

I failed to mention that the "ride" won't be over 40 miles long. It's pretty country, shady,
rolling black tops and stops will be made at points of interest over looking the Mark Twain
Lake.

We hope to see you there, I know Ceil and Frank would love to see you. They had their
son's vehcile repainted with grafics and intend to ride in it for the first time. The entire town
of Monroe City turned out a year ago, they even served lunch for the PGR and the little scouts kept
us in ice water.

I remember this mission well. Beautiful family, wonderfully supportive community, all coming together to honor Spc. Varga, a brave and selfless warriors. The Lord willing, I'll be there to proudly honor the memory of this most beloved son.
