Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Charles S. Sinnette,Thanks for being one of our greatest heroes. God Bless. And God Bless, The fellow soldiers that stands for us everyday.Thank you for your dedicated service and sacrifice to defend this great nation of ours.
We salute you , My Friend
Final Inspection
The soldier stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, soldier. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The soldier squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the soldier waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, soldier you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

My condolences to the family of Mr. Sinnette. Be comforted by the knowledge that he now serves again at the side of his former shipmates who have passed previously. Those great men helped bring peace to the World.

Ride Report...
Well, the weather didn’t start off too great. Just before the briefing the rain came. We all headed under the awning of Aldi’s and the mission briefing was given there, followed by prayer. We convoyed to the funeral home and upon arrival the rain stopped (answered prayer!) and the flag line was set up. In total, we had 15 dedicated (and available) members who showed to stand for this sailor.
Upon completion of the funeral, another flag line was set while the casket was loaded into the hearse for Mr. Sinnette’s final sail. All members of the PGR rendered appropriate salutes until the door was closed, then flags were loaded, riders mounted their steel horses, and we had the honor of escorting Mr. Sinnette to his final resting place.
At the cemetery, we formed another flag line while his body was carried by pall bearers to the plot. The pastor read the 23rd Psalm and a prayer was offered. Full military honors were given, complete with a 21 gun salute, the playing of Taps, the folding of the flag, and the presentation of the flag to his widow, Betty Sinnette. Tears were shed and hugs of condolence were exchanged as a great sailor, judge, husband and father, was laid to rest. Directly following the service, we were invited to share in a lunch with the family.
On behalf of the Sinnette family (especially our PGR members from Omaha and Little Rock, Thomas and Betsy), thank you for being a part of this honor service.
It’s always emotional and never gets any easier to stand in honor of a service member.
Thank you to each of you who took time out of your day and out of your families lives to be present with me today. It was so good to meet new members and it’s always good to see the same faces at these times. My prayer is for God to bless each of you each and every day.

| On behalf of our mother, Betty Sinnette, and our family, we want to thank you for your service during this time. We were honored by the presence of the PGR at my father's funeral. Dad was not big on pomp and circumstance, but he would have been flattered. Thanks also for the wonderful words of comfort that we have received. We are grateful that you all chose to stand in honor of our dad. |
