God knows how you loved this Marine. He has always belonged to God, and was just a gift to us. Now he is home.............. I hope and pray for all of our service and their families that they can trust in the Lord. I believe that can be SO hard yet SO comforting. God Bless you. Sherry, a double Blue Star Mom........ |

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Cpl Nicholas J Burns, Jr. May God help you though this difficult time and sorrow. Know
your son was and is a Hero to us all. Our thoughts and prayers are with
you always. He will never be forgotten.
Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Nicholas.
Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.
Morning
Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you: 1. Jesus Christ. 2. The American G.I. One died for your soul, the other for your Freedom. |

Mission Ride Report
On June
24,
PGR stood a flag line for Cpl Nicholas Burns at the Crystal River United Methodist Church. An extremely hot day did not stop 19 riders with five padengers. Spud and friend with support vehicle gave us a constant 24 on line with two to spell them.
The day started with JD Brown and I as escort from Wylder Funeral Home in Homossasa. Because the church property was vast, Rev. Hawk posted himself at the first entrance and directed from there. Arriving on time with Cpl Burns. Honor Guard and family, we found the PGR were already in place to receive Cpl Burns. After the family entered church shortly after 1300 hrs, it was obvious our flag line would be set up earlier than scheduled. A quick briefing was held with members that were present and we then went to a flag line by 1315 hrs. 20 minutes
later more PGR from St. Pete arrived as well as Lucky and Don. By 1345 all 24 were in line.
Family and visitors were many , filling the large church to standing room only. Our Support Vehicle had to be sent for more
water twice as we went through four cases by the time we broke for the service part of the mission. It was at this time with rain and lightning on the immediate horizon. I suggested that all that came from more than 90 minutes away be dismissed if they chose. They had been standing in direct sun for over two an
half hours there were no complaints and no problems of any kind. I am so proud of the crew we had today.
Services concluded, I dismissed the guard. At this point I drove quickly home to get the condolences from the PGR website. It was a short notice mission and I wanted as much time for posts as possible. I got the eight pages together and put them in a binder. Miss Carol shocked me with her request to go
with me to present the folder to the family who at this time were at the opposite end of the church property serving food and beverages to their guests. Folder delivered, mission was over and we drove home still dry.
