Our heartfelt condolences go out to the Kalitta family, the Kalitta racing team and the entire NHRA brotherhood of which Scott was a part of for so many years. Our thoughts and payers are with you. The US Army requested that the "Wally" won by Tony Schumacher this weekend be given to the Kalitta family as a small token of apprecietion for the contributions made to the armed forces by Kalitta Air Charters. In his acceptance speech, Tony choose not to thank his many sponsors, but rather spoke of the contributions of the Kalitta family and said that this trophy will sit on the Kalitta family mantle. May this "Wally" forever remind you of the many contributions Scott made to the sport of drag racing. He will forever be a champion in our hearts.

If not me, then who?

To the family and friends of Scott Kalitta, and all who mourn this tragic loss, I humbly ask that you please accept my most sincere condolences. All too often I have seen a Kalitta Air Falcon 20 taxi in, and with the dignity and honor of an active duty Military Color Guard, return a fallen soldier home to his loved ones. Each and every time the Kalitta Air Crew has impressed me with their attention to detail, and the sincerity of their conviction. Several times we PGR members have discussed our appreciation for the devotion of The Kalitta Family and Organization for the service they render and provide this nation. It is my firm belief that the Warrior Spirit is with you, and that is why you've been so successful in your endeavors. It is that same warrior spirit that you honor with us, each time The Patriot Guard Riders look silently on as you bring another warrior home. We salute you. Godspeed. And know that no matter where you are, there are members of the PGR nearby that are in your debt. You shall always be among friends.

Because It's The Right Thing To Do.

My thoughts and prayers are with the Kalitta family. Before becoming involved with the PGR, I was into drag racing, and had the honor of meeting Scott and Connie a few times at races. The racing world has lost a great man, and the things the Kalitta family has done for our fallen heroes will never be forgotten. God Bless!!

Our most heartfelt condolences to the Kalitta family. We can't begin to know your pain, but we mourn with you in your overwhelming loss. May your loving memories bring you comfort and strength in these most difficult days.

May our hearts and prayers bring you at least some of the comfort you bring to the families of our Fallen Heroes. I stand with tears in my eyes each time I see a Kalitta plane come in. You are providing such a precious service to the families - always with great respect and honor. It sounds like Scott also brought respect and honor to the racing community.

We stand with you and will take a moment of silence Thursday evening in honor of Scott. Please know you are in the hearts of PGR across the nation.

Rest in peace, Scott.

I don't have the words to express the sorrow and sympathy I feel for the Kalitta family. I also can't express the extent of my gratitude that this family stepped forward to take our fallen Brothers and Sisters and "bump" them from baggage to first class on their final trip home. Please know that I feel for your loss as I feel for the loss of those your family brings home to us with dignity.
