It was just announced that the son of Connie Kalitta (Scott Kalitta) was killed today in a drag race event.

Connie (Father) is the owner of Kalitta Air Charters the Charter air line that Brings out Fallen Heroes Home to their loved ones.
Connie bought and specially equipped these Air Craft to transport Fallen Heroes in a dignified manner.
This is a Vast Improvement from having them delivered as air cargo aboard commercial air craft.
Though our words cannot balm your pain the Patriot Guard Family extends our sincere condolences to the entire Kalitta Family.  May he rest in peace

I wish to express my sincere condolences to the Kalitta family on the untimely passing of Scott. I am a drag race fan and know the enormous contribution the Kalitta family has made to the sport. As a PGR rider I also know the respectful contribution the Kalitta family has made to giving dignity to those KIA in the way they transport fallen heroes home to their families and final resting place. I was part of a PGR mission at Orange County airport earlier this year and noticed as we were pulling out of the airport partking lot escorting the fallen hero that the pilot and copilot of the Kalitta transport plane were still standing at attention long after they really needed to be. It doesn't matter to me if Scott was a veteran or not as I feel he deserves a huge PGR escort for the above and beyond call of duty work his family has done supporting the fine men and women of our armed forces. Standing by for his mission if called upon . . . Buz

Our Condolences and Prayers go out to the Kalitta family. The Drag Racing family has lost a fine member. The Kalitta family has moved many troops and supplies starting with "Operation Desert Storm. Returning our Fallen Hero's with respect, is only one of the services they provide. One of their pilots is a PGR member but I can't remember his screen name.

God Speed Scott, God Speed............

May Our Lord Bless You All,

My arms reach out to the Kalitta family with a hug and the sincere thanks for the support of our mission, both on the battlefield and after the battlefield. As a Desert Storm vet, I thank you, as a PGR member, I thank, and as an American, I thank you for all that you have done and are doing to support the Troops. May Scott rest in peace knowing that he was a member of a family, whether wining or losing a race, never quit being great Americans.

There are a couple of us Kalitta pilots on the board.  Thank you all for putting Scott up on the PGR board, I know Doug and Connie are going through some tough times right now and I know your support is certainly appreciated.  Many of us can relate and have been in situations in our lives where we know the possible consequences but we still go out and do what we love and do best and that is what Scott did.  RIP and Godspeed.  I'm proud to fly under the Kalitta name.  Thank you all again.

I offer my most sincere condolences to the Kalitta family. Scott, Connie, and the family are well-known to all the racing fans. And many many heroes and families of heroes owe much to Kalitta Air. The respect and professionalism that is showed to our returning heroes by this company is amazing, and has left me speechless, with tears in my eyes, at the airport. I hope that the family will allow us, as Patriot Guard Riders, to return some of that respect and honor with an escort and flagline for Scott. I am so sorry for your loss.

This news is just heartbreaking...

I used to throw an old footbal around with "Scotty" when he was just ten years old..

football was his great love back then....

When he hit high school , that all changed..

Ive followed his racing career with a great deal of vicarious pleasure ....

Never missing an opportunity to say "I knew him when...

He will be greatly missed by everyone ......

my prayers go forth...

But.... These ARE my church clothes??? The only suit I own..... is a rainsuit!!!

Our sincere condolences to the family and friends on the loss of their beloved son Scott Kalitta. May God help you through these difficult times and sorrow. Thank you to the Kalitta family for all you have done and do for our Fallen Heroes. Scott is a hero to many and will never be forgotten.

Rest Safely and Securely in God's Loving Arms, Scott.

Going home, going home,
I'm just going home.
Quiet-like, slip away-
I'll be going home.
It's not far, just close by;
Jesus is the Door;
Work all done, laid aside,
Fear and grief no more.
Friends are there, waiting now.
He is waiting, too.
See His smile! See His hand!
He will lead me through.

Morning Star lights the way;
Restless dream all done;
Shadows gone, break of day,
Life has just begun.
Every tear wiped away,
Pain and sickness gone;
Wide awake there with Him!
Peace goes on and on!
Going home, going home,
I'll be going home.
See the Light! See the Sun!
I'm just going home.

To the family and friends of Scott, you will remain in our thoughts and prayers.  It is because of your family that our sons and daughters are being brought home to us in a dignified manner.  I only wish my son, Justin, had been treated to that event.  We have become very good friends with the Gold Star parents who started the legislation and helped get it passed that allowed this service to start taking place.  Believe me when I say that we Gold Star families say a very special "Thank You" to this family.  We are told that time heals all wounds...well, is some cases it just soothes them....sincerely and in deep appreciation...Jan and Joe Johnson

Weapon in my hand, ready to roll
Here we go again- our nightly patrol.
Over here it’s the same thing, night after night
Only difference it seems is whether or not there’s a fight.
Sometimes it is easy-going, calm as can be
It’s times like that which worry me.
Gotta stay alert cause you never know
If there is something ahead that’s gonna blow.
One more time we’ll make our rounds
Always praying to make it back to our “home” grounds.
But if by enemy hands we are taken out tonight
Just know it won’t be easy, it will be one hell of a fight.
Whether we’re Army, Navy, Air Force or Marine
We are the toughest boys you have ever seen.
