Thank you Julio Ponce for your willingness to go into Harm's Way to help defend our nations freedom in the Global War on Terrorism in Iraq. I pray that the Lord Jesus will place a Hedge of Protection around you and keep you safe from ALL harm during your tour of duty.

For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, nor height nor depth , nor any other created thing , shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. - Romans 8:38-39.

Mission for Julio Ponce, ARNG Sendoff Complete

Unfortunately today Tiny was ill and I took over the mission as R/C.
We had 3 bikes and 8 cages show off their full colors for this young soldier today. After getting the cages ready, and a short meeting, we headed out for Julio's home. After a few miss turns, we finally arrived with horns blowing, music blaring & flags flying everywhere for a very surprised soldier.
During the inital greeting this young soldier succumbed to his real emotions and said he was so honored and didn't expect this from anyone. The ladies presented him and his wife Rosa and son Julio with a Ribbon Cake with the ANG emblem atop. Many other tokens of rememberance were given, as well as email address for updates on his tour... After everyone visited and shared stories with Julio and his family they thanked each of us and we slowly departed a very happy family. Of course, support for Rosa and his mother were offered by the Blue Star network and others.....
Last, I want to thank those who worked hard to get this all set up, as it was a success... and to each of the others there, thank you also for your help and support on this mission. Thanks to all we left a very emotionally happy young soldier with a renewed pride in his mission and those he will be there for..... Thank You, and I promise I won't get lost next time.......
