SGT. JEFFERY "BAMA" WYERS
GALVESTON TEXAS POLICE DEPARTMENT
JASPER, ALABAMA
20JUN08
Please join Alabama in honoring one of our Hometown defenders, Galveston Police Officer Sgt, Jeff " Bama " Wyers was killed in a motorcycle accident 14Jun08, and his wife Deputy Crystal Wyers Galveston County Sheriffs Office was seriously injured. Jeff and Crystal were married on Friday, and had plans on moving to Kansas. Jeff had just sent in his retirements just hours before the accident. Sgt. Wyers was a member of Blue Knights Texas 31, and was enroute to a meeting to talk about plans on forming a new Blue Knights Chapter in Kansas.
The Patriot Guard in Texas stood proud in the memorial for this great American Hero, and the family has asked Alabama to do the same. Please try to make plans to attend the funeral services of " Bama " as his shift is now complete, and now he will take his place amongst the other HEROES who have passed before him.
Graveside Service Only:
Oakman Cemetary
Oakman Alabama
1000 Hours
Staging:
Kilgore Funeral Home
1200 Birmingham Avenue
Jasper Alabama
Time: 0845
RIDE CAPTAIN: MARCO
The Patriot Guard along with the Blue Knights will escort the family to the funeral home.
Weather: 90 Slight chance of rain.

| That "Thin Blue Line" is again diminished as are we all with the passing of another LEO Hero. May God bless his family, friends, and LEO comrades as they say good bye to a LEO Brother, husband, friend, and co-worker. May God grant Crystal a full and speedy recovery from her injuries. Prayers, prayers, prayers. |

Final Inspection
The officer stood and faced God, Which must always come to pass. He hoped his shoes were shining. Just as brightly as his brass. "Step forward now, officer. How shall I deal with you? Have you always turned the other cheek? To My Church have you been true?" The officer squared his shoulders and said, "No, Lord, I guess I ain't. Because those of us who carry guns, Can't always be a saint. I've had to work most Sundays, And at times my talk was tough. And sometimes I've been violent, Because the world is awfully rough. But, I never took a penny, That wasn't mine to keep.... Though I worked a lot of overtime. When the bills just got too steep. And I never passed a cry for help, Though at times I shook with fear. And sometimes, God, forgive me, I've wept unmanly tears. I know I don't deserve a place, Among the people here. They never wanted me around, Except to calm their fears. If you've a place for me here, Lord. It needn't be so grand. I never expected or had too much, But if you don’t, I’ll understand. There was a silence all around the throne, Where the saints had often trod. As the officer waited quietly, For the judgment of his God. "Step forward now, officer you’ve borne your burdens well. Walk peacefully on Heaven’s streets; you’ve done your time in Hell."

| To all of those who escorted my husband, Sgt. Jeff "Bama" Wyers, or paid your respects in some way--I cannot express my gratitude. Thank you all so much for your care and your prayers, and for being there to honor him when I could not. I am still recovering, and just got released from the hospital last Friday--I am currently in a 'live-in' rehab facility, where I will be until around August 1st. The outpouring of love and support from everyone has been tremendous and deeply appreciated...I will eventually recover from my physical injuries, but only with the faith and support of everyone around me am I able to deal with the emotionally void that I feel. God bless you all and keep you riding safe--thanks for all that you do.
