To the family of PFC Dawid Pietrek,
Thank you for sharing Dawid with us for such a brief period of time. Thank you for providing him the strength, support and values that encouraged him to serve our country. He was a United States Marine - a true accomplishment. And now is also an American citizen. He is buried in our most hallowed cemetery, where American heroes rest.
I read today in the Washington Post of some of the things Dawid wrote about his service in the Marines and in Afghanistan. He was a remarkable young man.
I stood there yesterday with the Patriot Guard riders and I could almost physically feel your grief at the loss of your loved one. You represented him well. May God bless you and your family and friends.
